We used to dine here a fair bit when It was Silks, because we really like their wood oven pizzas and salad selection, what happened????With some last minute plans, we raced to the fairly new renovated bistro hoping to still get some lunch on a Sunday. We arrived just before 2.30! Phew, made it, we were allowed in, but of course the chefs are never happy when that happens! Still, business is business!Ordered fairly quickly once we knew we had to go up to the counter and order, not a fan of that, big fan of table service, how it used to be. I knew I wanted the pizza and foodie mate had the good ol carvery (sounds so old school when you put it that way!). We made our way to the salad and veg bar, piled up the plates and sat back down. The salads looked promising but lacked in seasoning and flavour, the roast potatoes were nice and veg, were just veg. My pizza arrived and as I started to devour this, I noticed within the first couple bites, or even the first! That the dough was not cooked and the pizza was not even hot! How does that happen when you have a flaming hot pizza oven going? I asked the lovely waiter, who had been wonderful, if he could please put it back into the oven for a bit longer, I cant do raw dough, only if cookie dough! The pizza came back about 10 mins later and still this was lukewarm! I went in for a second shot and alas, yep, dough still not cooked, just left the pizza. Foodie mate said his roast was really dry and didnt really enjoy it. As we went to leave, the other waiter asked if we wanted to take the pizza away, I said no, it was inedible and well, he just didnt care. Made an insincere apology and said goodbye, no offer of any compensation, no money back, no complimentary offers of anything else, not that we cared about that, but surely, it is the principal of the whole matter and being professional about it. The first waiter was so fabulous (Dean) he really seemed to care about his customers and was quite a passionate peeps pleaser! Then Mr 2nd waiter was the complete opposite, go figure.Wont return unfortunately.

Great food, great service. Regular customer and rarely disappointed. We do enjoy the mini desserts and they brew a decent coffee. They cater for couples as well as large numbers. Give it a try.

Went in for lunch, service was ok, but the roast was too dry for my liking. I think you should change your name back to Silks, those days were better.
