Used to be good but every time we decide to try it out again we are disappointed. Dry, burnt bases which somehow also manage to be soggy. Certainly not gourmet or what you would expect of a wood oven pizza. Better off trying Hearts on Winston avenue which is certainly not gourmet either but are very generous with their toppings, not burnt and have great service.
Although Papa Mia’s is not close by, I often make the drive as it’s one of the best vegan pizzas in Adelaide. The ‘cheese’ and ‘meat’ are delicious and the variety of options is unsurpassed. The price is also quite good for what you get.
Bad bad bad. Dry and crusty. Order was completely wrong and didn’t realise until we got home. First and last time we will be eating here.
My first order from here and unfortunately, it will be my last. Ordered online for pick up at 7.30pm – got there at 7.37pm and the pizza was barely warm, let alone hot! Base was soggy and the ingredients were under cooked. I had to put it under the griller when I got home, to cook it a bit more and also heat it through. Paid an extra $4 to have bacon and asparagus added. The bacon had no brown colouring at all and the asparagus was out of a can or jar, as it was very mushy. Most of it got thrown onto our back lawn, for the birds to eat tomorrow. VERY disappointed. Definitely won’t be returning.
If you’re looking for a tasty traditional wood oven pizza, try somewhere else… We ordered 2 different pizzas which tasted exactly the same… Boring, soggy and flavourless…. Tasted like one of those pre-made pizza bases from the supermarket which had been microwaved… Definitely a far cry from the crispy yet moist bases I’ve experienced at other ‘wood oven’ establishments… Toppings were scarce, and were undercooked also… What a joke… Rated at 1.5 star, gave that for the garlic bread which was ok, and prompt delivery (pretty obvious why after tasting the pizza, these guys surely don’t have many to deliver each night)….. You’ll get a better pizza at dominos…. And for the record, I hate dominos…
I had heard a lot about Papa Mia’s and was excited to try a different place that creates vegan pizza…sadly it was incredibly disappointing. The pizza itself was tasteless, the base was soggy/mushy and the toppings/vegan cheese was minimal (especially for the price) – and didn’t taste fresh at all. Additionally, I had ordered a gluten free pizza being Coeliac…and I really don’t think it was gluten free as I was incredibly ill all night. My friend ordered one of their non-vegan pizzas and told me that it was quite disappointing as well.I would skip this one!
Great take-away pizza with awesome vegan cheese and mock meats, which I normally wouldn’t to for, as well as great garlic bread. Super friendly staff.
