I have been coming here for years, and I’m a return customer for a reason! My Chinese in-laws introduced me to Phoung Yen, and I love it just as much as they do. They do all my Westerner favourites, as well as traditional, authentic Chinese hotpots and broths. The food here is consistently great – delicious and excellent quality. The service is friendly and fast, and the place has a great atmosphere (I don’t think I’ve ever seen it ‘quiet’ – must be a lot of happy customers!). My particular favourites are the Mongolian and Satay Chicken, as well as the Sizzling Beef with shallots. They also do great Sweet and Sour fish, or you can get a whole Steamed Flounder with ginger and shallots. Can’t wait for my booking there this weekend to see the Chinese new year Lion Dancers!!

DISGUSTING FOOD AND DISGUSTING SERVICE. Out of the six people at our table tonight, not one of us enjoyed our meal. We all had a bit from each meal and were all extremely disappointed. One of my friends ordered another dish because he couldn’t even eat what he had ordered, and couldn’t eat the second dish, it was so bad. I WOULDN’T EVEN BRING THE FOOD HOME FOR MY DOG. The food has no flavour whatsoever, not to mention no smell. None of the dishes had an aroma and all looked and tasted disgusting. Vegetables weren’t even cut up in noodles, they were served by the bunch. The service was just as terrible as the food. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
