A great spot for family and friends. The food is always excellent and the atmosphere very welcoming. I have eaten here many, many times and travel a long way to do so. It is by far the most nicely presented Vietnamese Restaurant in the area and there is no feeling of being rushed out the door as soon as you are finished.I have only been here with either children or grandparents in tow, so our menu selections have been traditional Anglo-Asian fare: lemon chicken, salt n pepper squid/prawns, sizzling beef, cold rolls, spring rolls, honey chicken etc.However glancing at other tables with dining envy, I see the Vietnamese selections look fantastic. I have tried to sneak down without the kids, but as it is their favourite restaurant, this has been an impossible task.The waiting staff ( even when overwhelmed on a Sunday evening after their annual 4 week break and an unexpectedly full restaurant ) were polite and attentive.This restaurant has never failed to deliver quality, reasonably priced food. The food prices are a little higher than the Vietnamese further down the road, but the interior makes up for the slightly higher costs and is more than suitable for a birthday dinner or family gathering.The toilets are very clean too!!! Always a good sign!
best vietnamese food in the western suburbs. I use to eat at vietnam restaurant all the time before i found this little gem. Quails are to die for, and you dont feel cram in at all at this restaurant. Must try the grilled pork balls make your own cold rolls, they’re peanut sauce is so delicious. definitely be back
So it’s been more than a few years since I’ve last visited this place. The food is still good but since I came by myself I couldn’t try more than a couple of dishes so I’ll have to come back with company
A promising first experience. I’ve heard many good things about Sunflower, a sister restaurant of the Vietnam Sunrise on Henley Beach Rd (which I go to a lot and love!). I grabbed the staple, pork balls. They were just lovely. The meat was great and the accompanying veggies were fresh and there was more than enough. Probably, the only aspect that I did not love was the peanut sauce (I much prefer the one from Vietnam Sunrise). Nonetheless, a great first experience!
Pretty mediocre food and the attentiveness of staff varies according to the colour of your skin. This was noticed by our group at our table which had a mix of Western and Asian people. Also, men were treated better than the women.We would not recommend this restaurant to others as this place is definitely behind the times. Welcome to the modern world Sunflower! Unless you realise the world has changed, you are going to lose a lot of patrons in time to come!!
Simple, yet delicious! The staff don’t jump all over you, but they are attentive. I’ve eaten here at least 20 times and I’ve never been disappointed. The Sunflower is a family owned business, so sometimes the staff might get a little distracted with the arrival of friends or family, but I quite like the vibe this brings to the restaurant. It isn’t fancy, but it’s a nice place to grab a quick meal after work, have a date night or catch up with friends.
The best Vietnamese restaurant out there I know. Food is absolute heaven. The DIY pork ball cold rolls are definitely my favourite along with the crab claws and many other dishes. Good service and friendly staff.
