Walked in here yesterday arvo. Starving!! No one else in shop. Ordered chicken shaslick meal and lamb one. With rice salad and sauces. VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. Chicken and lamb both extremely tender, piping hot and delicious. Both melted in mouth. Plenty of Saffron rice . We are definitely going back
Only one other review so far so here is mine. I think its been good to get another Charcoal grill place in the area. Have visited quite a few times already. The shop seems very clean and the 2 guys who tend to work are very friendly. One’s even yelled/greeted me in the car park which was nice. Food is well priced especially the single skewer wrap for $5 and the Manto for $10 which i hope don’t go up soon. Though food isn’t quite as flavour packed as My Charcoal Kebab or Lawash Bakery which are probably the standouts in the western suburbs, I definitely hope they are here to stay
I was very excited to see that an Afghan barbecue restaurant had opened within walking distance of my house, so I decided to check it out last night. The restaurant itself was very clean and I was immediately greeted by a friendly staff member. Ordering was very easy as I have eaten Afghan many times before – I knew I wanted the combination platter which featured whole lamb, lamb mince, and chicken skewers on a bed of rice. The meats were cooked well – you got that lovely charcoal taste that you look for in charcoal barbecue. The biggest downfall was seasoning. Both the meat and rice just lacked that little bit of kick and flavour that the better Afghan places around Adelaide have.Another difference between this place and others is that you couldn’t see the actual barbecue area as it was hidden behind a dividing wall. This is such an excellent and important feature of eating at an Afghan barbecue place – you want to see that meat cooking as it is such interesting thing to watch!Overall a good place to get Afghan barbecue, but I would probably be more inclined to drive a little further to Afghan Star or My Charcoal Kebab House on Port Rd.
