It seems unfair to rate this place since we never even got in the door. We made a reservation for Valentine’s Day through Dimmi, then got a voicemail message at 2pm saying they were overbooked and that our booking was cancelled.
I went there last night with my girlfriend and was pleasantly surprised. Really enjoyed the food and the staff were so nice and attentive. Definitely coming back!
I give this little restaurant 2.5 because it is average on most accounts. My friend seemed to enjoy her dish a lot more than I did mine. I ordered my favourite,’Carbonara’. I’ve eaten this dish at more Italian restaurants than I can remember, and this version was not very memorable. I would also agree that the prices seemed a little over inflated. However, the service was good, as we had a son and father combo waiting on us. They weren’t particularly friendly, but were efficient in taking our order, bringing drinks and our meals. It wasn’t the worst experience, but it wasn’t outstanding either. I think this place is worth a try…just to see for yourself.
I dined at Capriccio tonight with my girlfriend, we both were very impressed right from the start.. Capriccio’s had a very welcoming feel from the moment we walked inside, and the staff were very friendly and service was prompt. As a entree we had Salt and Pepper Prawns, three words, ‘to die for.’ And for our mains my girlfriend had homemade Spinach Gnocchi and I had home made Seafood Ravioli. Both were absolutely mouth watering and kept us content. For dessert we shared a Chocolate Fantasy, which was more like a delicious work of art. I will say that when I had a look at the menu at first glance, it did seem rather pricey, but after experiencing Capriccio we soon found out it was actually great value for money as what was served to us was worth every dime ! I’ll definitely be going back to dine again soon and will be telling all my family and friends too. Very happy.
Absolutely foul. Overpriced, food served cold. When I mentioned the cold rubbery seafood the owner sneered and asked why I had not mentioned it earlier as if it was my fault. Ended up being overcharged for the meal as a nice bonus to the evening as well. Avoid like ebola!
Time warp!. I have not eaten here for many years , I humorously said I had eaten here , to which my wife said when and with whom ( that was 20 plus years ago LOL), and the decor hadn’t changed at all! Service was excellent, meal came quickly, and was delicious . Wine list was comprehensive, and was a good range of what SA can offer . The speed of the meal was prefect as we had a 7 and 9 year old nephew in tow, they demolished the meals . Most pleasant evening .
Uncomfortable andvembarrassing. It was a ‘quiet’ Friday night. Granted, we were late because of a late arrival from intetstate. The staff agrreed to waIt for our guests. When our guests arrived, they were (politely) hassled to order quickly because ‘the chef was waiting’. Out guest suggested to just have a coffee, but instead, were railroaded into ordering a meal, as if obligated. If a restaurant decides to stay open for guests, it should be unconditional, rather than railroading your customers into ordering, and then choking in. a dish.Food was ok, very overpriced, but over all an unpleasant and embarassing ordeal as a guest. AND, if you’re going to have opening hours, then stick to it, without inflicting a guilt trip on your customets.
