I was hungry by the time getting the restaurant. started with lamb backbone stripes sided with smashed sweet potato. Meat is tender goes so well with the cream sauce.Second is another main lamb shank which is marinated and slow cooked. Meat comes off the bone effortlessly and melt in mouth..yummy. The seafood pasta was generous in size so everyone had a bite. it’s recommended. kids had kids many -woodfire pizza and creamy penne. pizza looks good and taste woodfire but pasta is boring by itself no salad or side or anything in the creamy sauce.
We had a table booked and were told it was table service. No one brought us a bottle of water or anything. We were sitting for about half an hour then I decided to go to the bar and ask for one. They ran out of chicken parmis for dinner. The food all came out at different times. The fastest was within 1 hour of ordering but I waited an hour and 45 minutes for my food and I had ordered pasta. That seems excessive.Once the food came it was nice. Nothing fancy but it was tasty. The problem was the service not the food.
On Saturday night the huge room was filled with punters, proving the popularity of this cafe. The service was good although it would have been nice to be offered drinks when we were seated. An open kitchen is always reassuring. The serves were generous & food quality good.We shared an entree of dukkuh – a delicious mix of nuts & spices with soft bread & balsamic oil. I could eat this forever & cleaned the plate. She had the Moroccan Curry with falling apart slow braised beef. He had Aglio E Oilo spaghetti & I had a pasta special of pappardelle, both cooked to perfection. My leftovers were doggy-bagged & I got a chocolate raspberry fudge for takeaway, which was packed with a dollop of cream. The other cakes in the window were very tempting & it took a while for me to decide which to choose. The only negative was the noise level in the room which made normal conversation difficult.
