I was really looking forward to trying this place and Latin American cuisine sounded interesting, offering a break from the everyday. Firstly, the place is really small, with just four tables. Our waitress Natalia was very pleasant and explained the menu to us properly. She even made some recommendations. We ordered their speciality item – the arepas. I liked their concept but they were quiet bland…even with the chimichurri. I had the vegy Fiesta and my husband had the pepiada. We also felt that they were overpriced. The service could have been much better. We had to ask for a glass, a spoon, etc. as the staff were chatting inside.
Nice little quaint cafe that offers a very good vego and vegan ( gluten and wheat free) menu with delicious coffee to match. Had the vegy fiesta with avocado as an extra. Ablsolutley delicious and at a fantastic price. Beautiful selection of authentic coffee which was a nice compliment to a small but not under done meal, also at a great price. Recommend giving this place a go, you will be pleasantly surprised.
Awesome wholesome and, I assume, traditional Latino food. We had the arepas- pulled pork and chicken and avocado (upon recommendation from the waitress) and they were both delicious. Churro’s were also great. An easy, tasty lunch or dinner stop.
I was after some good Latino food and this place was recommended. I had the Arepazo plate which are 6 different flavoured fillings of mini arepas. The flavour ranged from pork, 2xbeef, chicken, bean and salad. They were awesome and quite filling. For a snack I had the yuca fritos which came with a Chipotle sauce. I had to order the burger named El Mechado which was pulled skirt steak, jalapeo, mayo, cheddar cheese and tomato. It was so good and I smashed it down. They have some interesting soft drinks took try also. The place only has 4 x tables so be quick if you want to sit down and enjoy some great food! Latino flavours will bring me back!
No pomp, no ceremony, just a sweet little eatery that nourishes you with simple, hearty food. You walk in and you are virtually almost standing at the counter but they have squeezed a few tables in so you can dine at your leisure. Staff are always polite and inviting but the food is a little on the bland side. It is cornbread rolls and pastry wrapped meats that are great for a quick fix but don’t go expecting to be overwhelmed with flavour. The food is reasonably priced and the flavours match this. But for a takeaway place it is good and there aren’t many Latin American places around so you should stop in for a bite and decide for yourself.
I had a pretty great experience here! The venue is very confused – it feels more like a takeaway fish & chips shop with a super commercial logo. You can’t fit many in, and sometimes the wait is long. But we went the other night before a movie at the Capri & our experience was lovely. The server was really enthusiastic & helpful – explaining the menu to us in all of our glorious ignorance. We ordered only a couple of things to share as we were pushing for time, and they were incredibly delicious. Pockets of meat in a corn flour casing & a fried plantain (special) with pork, sauces & a bit of a coleslaw. It was a lovely little meal with wonderful service right before a movie & will be back – probably just for some takeaway!
Food is okay, but the wait can be ridiculous!. My boyfriend and I went to Candela for dinner to get takeaway burgers. The staff did not inform us that it would take about 40 minutes for the food to be ready. Although the food was decent, it was not worth the wait!
