Delicious authentic food was very pleasantly surprised! The only thing I would suggest is champagne by the glass and changing the music up otherwise can’t fault it.
Have driven past this restaurant on numerous occasions, but never visited. Until today. I’m always on the lookout for lunch options, and thought we would pop in for a taste. The exterior looks ‘beige’ – nothing that grabs your attention. Unfortunately the interior isn’t much of an improvement either, but it is very clean and neat. Definitely rates better than certain establishments in Chinatown. We were offered a lunch menu and a wine list. The plethora of options caused my indecisiveness. Their lunch menu is equivalent to many restaurants’ complete menu. Every dish includes a soft drink which made the offer rather appealing to those on a budget. We settled on the classics; salt and pepper squid, a kway teow (dry hor fun) and the beef stir fry with steamed rice.Everything was lovely. It didn’t blow my socks off, however, all meals were on point and very much value for money. Service was polite and friendly. The only floor staff present during meal did bring out our mains before our drinks. Minor detail really. In summary I must point out that it isn’t very common to have an individually cooked dish with a soft drink for under $10. I definite recommend this place if you enjoy solid Chinese food on a small budget.
Not family Friendly. It is blatantly obvious that the obstinate owner/chef is the reason for the untrained front of house, shoddy service. Non bilingual staff only apologise for taking too many takeaway orders while they aren’t apologetic that the chef determines that one’s special needs child needs to have his chilli laced special order delivered long after the family has had their long awaited entre and mains delivered all at the same time. Obvious, if not handed menus, staff will not even notice folk walking out. Trained matre-D urgently required!!!
Wine by the bottle only…!. We have been regulars at this great restaurant since it opened, however tonight when we arrived we noticed that the wine list had been heavily edited with the white out.Unless you wish to consume wine by the bottle, its the house wine or nothing.Management haven`t considered this one very well, we asked the waitress why we couldn`t purchase wine by the glass only to be told that that management had decided to do it.Problem solved, we got up and left the restaurant and spent our $100 elsewhere. Such a pity as the food is fantastic and the staff are great, pity that management don`t get it.In a few months time when business slows down in the middle of winter, management will be wondering where are all of our customers have goneGO FIGURE..!!!
Pathetic. Great foodworst service in AustraliaDon’t try ordering home deliveryOne hour of a person with no English language skillsAbsolutely uselessRude ignorant and offensive
Mains were good but entrees were a let down. My partner and I stumbled across this place last Saturday night. No booking was necessary and a waitress greeted us and swiftly got us seated. Ordered san choy bao and spring rolls for the entree and were completely disappointed. The 3 Vegetarian spring rolls were shorter than the length of my pinky and had hardly any filling and my partner felt they could’ve done better with the San choy bao which tasted like we could have made at home. When our mains came out, we werent expecting much but was satsfied with our Peking duck and fried rice. We do think they redeemed themselves. Wouldn’t rush back anytime soon but willing to give another go if we were in the area
Bad customer service but good food.. The food was good (the crispy tofu was amazing), however, the service was ridiculously slow and some of our order was wrong. Another issue was that the specials board was all in Chinese and the bill was ill in Chinese and we can’t read Chinese! While 99% of the customers were Chinese, it would have been good to also have the English translation as it felt exclusionary and the staff didn’t seem to care. I would return though as the food was yummy.20 Oct, 2014Bad customer service!.
