I stumbled upon this place by accident. They hands down they make one of the best pies here in Australia, and it is very hard to find a good pie. I brought a satay chicken pie and my friend a lamb, I got to taste both! The pastry is amazingly flakey and the fillings generous with the flavours being well balanced. I could have eaten 2 pies, but stopped at one. Definitely worth the visit, also the cookies are amazing.
It’s been some time coming, but my top price for a fruit bun has been surpassed! It didn’t come as a surprise because they didn’t have prices on their products. $3.20 for a single fruit bun, so what’s that $19.20 for half a dozen? Wasn’t happy. Fruit buns were okay though.
Lovely morning tea. We sat outside the Goolwa Bakery and enjoyed a lovely morning tea of reasonably good coffee and cakes. The service was friendly, the broad range of cakes was tantalising, and although we didn’t try them, a fresh range of sandwiches/rolls was also on offer.
Great pies and pasties. Excellent cakes. IMO the better bakery in Goolwa. Worth a try.
