My partner and I used to visit the cove for dinner quite frequently (about 6 months ago) and always left satisfied and happy with the food served. However, the last couple times it has been declining greatly. I feel that the menu is now constantly changing (the menu has shrunk a great deal, and the portions are much smaller). The cove was once a classic nice pub with good food and a nice pub atmosphere, however, the cove now seems lost in between trying to be a pub and trying to be a restaurant. It appears theyre trying too hard to be fine dining and letting go of the classic pub feel and food. I am particularly disappointed with my last visit there tonight, due to bland food, small portions and a constant ever changing menu that is shrinking and changing for the worse. I recommend going elsewhere, other pubs have nicer food and bigger portions for a better price!

One of the worst pub meals I’ve had in ages. After waiting an hour for our meals we received over priced tasteless slop. Frozen pre crumbed schnitzels, chips thatwere not cooked (the chef was quick to replace them but they were also uncooked)Makes you wonder what a four year apprenticeship gets you. So disappointed paid over $100 for lunch for 4 people in the front bar. Definitely will NOT be returning or recommending this place to anyone.

Being local we come once a month or so and generally have good to great meal. I had the special wagyu rump with waffle chips and garlic prawns wife had scotch fillet. Scotch was good as has been the case in the past, rump was great cooked just right chargrilled flavor nice prawns and waffle chips in particular were yummy. Overall pretty good for a pub
