Local neighbourhood Thai in Henley Beach and it does a good job of it. Expansive seating, it looked deceptively small on the outside but its a tardis inside. We were warmly greeted and water brought out to us.We ordered the Red Curry Duck and Basil Beef. Got the Coconut Steamed Rice to go with it. The curry was nice and lots of pieces of duck. Found it strange to have cauliflower in it but ate it as I enjoyed it. Pineapple and lychees add sweetness and curry is pretty mild. The beef was definitely the spicier of the two as it had chilli paste in it. Again cauliflower made an appearance with beans. The rice was of s generous size for two and was a great base to soak in all the curry and sauces.I can see why it is a favourite amongst locals.

Unfortunately the meal our group had here tonight would go done as one of the worst Thai meals Ive had. Starters ordered included servings of the skewers, fish cakes & crispy prawn. Not much to mention here. The fish cakes were bland however the prawns were definitely crispy. For mains we ordered a variety of dishes including choo chee prawn, lemongrass beef, pad thai, egg rice & sesame pork. The best dishes we had were the pad thai & prawns. The beef was hardly touched. Frankly the dish was a stoggy mess that not only didnt look appetising to eat but the beef was drowning in the curry. The worst dish was the pork. The quality of the meat was awful. I had to ask for a knife to cut through it as it was tough as leather. Once i managed to cut through it, i was underwhelmed by how bland & tasteless the dish was. Only saving grace was the relatively prompt & friendly service.

Great location, nice views and decent setting inside restaurant. We started with serves of the Chicken Larb, Satay Chicken sticks, Tom Yum Soup, Lemongrass Quail, and spring rolls. The larb, satay and Tom Yum were ok, but the larb could have had more spice. The quail lacked flavour, the skin was like it had been steamed or poached leaving it soft and a little slimy not grilled as described on the menu. The spring rolls were very pale, insipid examples of a spring roll. The contents lacked any flavour if there was pork in there we couldnt see any, and the dipping sauce didnt add anything either. Not sure how a spring roll can be go so wrong. For mains we had the Choo Chee Chicken Curry, Chilli Quail, Phud Thai with Prawns, Phud Mee and Drunken Noodles. I had the Choo Chee and it was the sweetest version Ive ever had, leading me to think the base of the sauce is a sugary packet mix! The drunken noodles arrived with yellow egg noodles, we mistakenly missed this as an option on the menu, we notice rice noodles and moreover the waitress DIDNT outline that there was an option if we had been asked we would have opted for the rice noodles. The Phud Thai was great with a truely nice flavour. However only came with 2 small prawns, the waitress stated thats standard. I think this is really poor for a MAIN SIZE dish. You would expect at least 3-6 prawns, as a minimum! The Phud Mee was good but nothing noteworthy, the chilli quails were sweeter than expected. Overall there was nothing glaringly bad, except for the spring rolls that were left on the table. When are spring rolls ever left on the table, really??? But there certainly wasnt anything to write home about either. This was decidedly one of the worst Thai eating experiences we have had. There are alternatives that serve up far more authentic and flavoursome options around the area.
