  • I/we have been here on many occasions and bring interstate guests and love it, great food reasonably priced. You know when lots of Indians eat here it…

  • As far as Indian food goes, this one's a winner. Their sarson saag (spinach gravy) and Naan bread were 10/10. The mixed veg starter platter with samos…

  • I generally don't like to write reviews esp. bad reviews for any place but to be honest this place serves the worst chicken tikka(entre) on this plane…

We live locally in Klemzig and New Mantra is conveniently only a street away. We have ordered take away more than 6 times and have loved the tasty Indian food this place offers. Our go to favourite is the butter chicken amongst other dishes. The food is always ready to be picked up on time and staff are friendly. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to other people living in the area.

Fabulous Food. We came back from a couple of days in the country and didn’t feel like cooking so ordered some tried and true delicacies. I for one could eat the butter chicken for breakfast lunch and dinner, the saag lamb was divine, paneer awesome, rice cooked to perfection, tikka chicken succulent and spiced just right and naan fluffy and tasty, We could not fault this meal, especially as it arrived piping hot by friendly staff. Great value for money too with generous serves. We will be back again and again. Thank you

Disappointed. Very disappointed with lack of flavour, gluggy steamed rice and squishy naan bread. The most basic home cook could put more flavour in to their Indian curry. Too australian-ised, not authentic at all and the lamb was so tough. Over priced!!!! Won’t be going back!!!

Shocked. I am shocked at the favourable reviews for this place. Tried for the first time tonight. It’s never a good sign when you walk into a completely empty restaurant at 8pm on a friday night. I mean empty – not a sign that anyone had eaten there, ever. There was no smell of curries cooking away in the kitchen…the tv was on in the corner…zero atmosphere. Opted for takeaway. The good: staff pleasant enough, dining room very attractive and nicely lit. Rice was okay. The bad: The lamb in my ‘lamb spinach’ was so incredibly tough. I chewed a few bits and rejected them, before giving up completely and tossing the rest. It seemed as though it had been cooked separately (needed an extra hour), then added to the gravy as an afterthought, as it wasn’t flavoured or coloured by the spices. I suspect this is one of those places that keeps a bunch of stuff in the freezer and heats it to order. The gravy was tasty enough, albeit seemingly devoid of spinach, but it was a bit too sweet and gave me an instant tummy ache which made me wonder if it was thickened with flour. To salvage the meal, I ate a bowl of the rice with my home made ghee and some lime juice. Now that was yum! I tried my partner’s Navratan Korma (veggie dish). While some of the veggies were nice, there was an over-arching ‘fake’ flavour, like it had been made with margarine, or bottled sauce, I’m not sure. And it was sweet, very out of place.Every Indian restaurant/takeaway will have its fans that claim it’s the ‘best indian food ever’, but in this case, anyone saying this really needs to get out more. Ick.

Awfull. We have taken out food from here on numerous occasions when they just opened and have found it not too bad. Till yesterday. We hadn’t been here for a while and the first thing we noticed was that they’d cancelled the 10% discount for take away. I ordered our usual, butter chicken, saag paneer, raita and garlic naan. When we started dinner, it was horrible. It was extremely salty and peppery spicy. We just kept adding rice and raita. But eventually gave up. Where normally we’d finish at least half and have the rest for lunch the next day, now we just got rid of it.We even thought about going back and asking for refund, however at 8.30 at night you don’t feel like doing that.No more for us. The Indian at Gilles Plains is better (across the Woolies petrol).

Decided to try this place as we were in the area and our usual place was closed Mondays. I’m glad we did as the meal was delicious. The butter chicken was delicious, the sauce was nice and thick and possibly the best butter chicken I have ever eaten. The cheese naan I had was equally as good, soft and fluffy with the right amount of cheese. Great stuff, I will definitely be back.

Curious what counts as bad service. Had absolutely no issues with it and food was lovely. Price was very fair and setting was very comfortable too.
