Beautiful location with complimentary tasty cheese platter for the wine tasting. The lady (Sarah) who was serving us for the night was lovely and made the experience even more enjoyable! It was one of the highlights of our KI trip.
The food menu is limited but being a winery this is the main focus. On offer are a couple of deliciously good pizzas and tasting platters providing an array of yummy goodies to accompany the wine. The outdoor decking overlooks sloping hillsides that plunge to the water below, making it a gorgeous setting to indulge.
We did a wine tasting and lunch at Dudley Wines. Itโs a lovely setting with spectacular ocean views and the mainland in the distance. We enjoyed the wine tasting (particularly the Sav Blanc and the โbiggerโ reds) and purchased a selection of wines including a very nice sparkling rose that we enjoyed with our lunch. For lunch we ordered the cheese platter and a Kangaroo Island King George Whiting Pizza – this from a very short menu. We started on the cheese platter at the tasting bar and then moved to our table on the deck. The platter was disappointing – only 2 types of cheese, although reasonable serves of each – $25 seemed a bit high. The pizza was very disappointing particularly with a price of $32 – mostly a tomato based sauce with a scattering if whiting pieces. I noticed someone else ordered the lamb pizza which looked much better. It was a warm day and I wanted to finish with an iced coffee but there was no ice.The staff were friendly and helpful – service was very good. The wines and setting are great. The food was disappointing.
This was a winery recommended by our Air Bnb host in their guidebook and very much glad we visited here. It was a topsy turvy weather kind of day and glad we got here when we did as it looked like very grey clouds with rain like earlier in the day. When we entered it was a nice setting and found a table near the window. Although sitting outside wouldโve had a breathtaking view over the fields to the water and also the cattle grazing in the grass, it was way too cold and overcast to enjoy. Place your order at the register and make payment then. Service is polite and helpful. The food menu is short but we werenโt that hungry at lunch so the Cheese & Winemakers Board Combo suited us to a tee. A delicious selection of quality cheeses and meats with enough bread and crackers. The accompaniments like the fruit paste and antipasto were lovely too. My friend enjoyed her glass of wine.Well worth a visit here!
Gorgeous views. Great chocolate cake. Did a tasting before sitting down to a cheeky sweet. Very much recommend. Now I’m just trying to get to the minimum word count.
