Very informative staff will guide you through extensive tasting of gins and vodkas. Cocktails (including slushies, alcoholic and non) can be purchased in a rustic farm-like setting that includes outdoor garden seating in pretty surrounds. A few other clothing and produce items are on sale.
My interest first piqued in this distillery when I had visited Kangaroo Island Stall in Adelaide Central Market. They were selling a variety of gin based drinks and noticed they used Kangaroo Island Spirits. I thought to myself if I ever went to Kangaroo Island I would definitely want to go there.Fast forward to now and we easily found this distillery as located close to our accommodation in Kingscote. The guy behind the counter was very helpful and helped us decide what type of gins we would enjoy. We had a tasting of their most popular then I settled upon a cocktail of Mulled Mulberry which was a hot drink of their mulberry gin mixed with lemon, ligurian honey, cloves, star anise, cinnamon, and orange. It was soothing and perfect as the weather was cold. We enjoyed the gin a lot and my friend and I both ended up buying a bottle each. We came back the next day and the same person made my friend up an Old Fashioned that was no longer on the menu. Bit of theatre in the making of it as it was smoked. This is a must visit if you’re on the island.
