Service was great and large portions. Food was tasty. Good pub food. Steak could improve but duck was good. Skin on fish could be crispier. Wine list was extensive and reasonably priced. Tasting platter was exceptional.
Average. Must have struck them on a bad day. They had run out of a few of the mains, they had kitchen problems and were down a chef. Would have been nice to know this up front rather than wait 2 hours for food. No offer of a drink or a discount, and when we asked was advised ‘if we do it for you we would have to do if for everyone.’ Not sure how he worked that out, we were one of the last there!Wouldn’t go back, there are better pubs in the hills
Country generousity. Schnitzels the size of skateboards, Specials that filled the platter sized plates. No-one is going home hungry. And the food is very tasty.Mid range prices, friendly and helpful service, slightly shabby setting – call it homely if you like, The night we were there the service fell to bits a little when they were run off their feet with three other large bookings (a wedding anniversary, a 21st and a staff dinner) but to their credit they came and told us what was happening, apologised in advance and fussed around us to do what they could to keep us smiling – which we did. Special credit here to a waitress called – if I caught it right – Angel. We’d certainly go here again, although next time we’d check to see how busy they were going to be.
Bloody Brilliant. Having lunch there on such a hot day was a well-deserved treat!Bothe my wife and I only had an entre and lunch main as we could not fit anything in else after wards. My wife had the natural oysters and Kilpatrick for myself. My only negative was the amount of sauce on the Kilpatrick. It did become a little rich and maybe contributed to the oysters being a tad undercooked. Fine by me as I only ordered 6 opposed to 12. I would give it an 8/10. The natural where fresh and gone in seconds!I then followed it by the new chicken breast dish with brie, bugs & bacon on their menu. Speechless 10/10!!! My wife also had the crispy Asian chicken salad. Let me just say, I have NEVR seen he finish a full meal anywhere to date until today!!! Another 10/10.Friendly staff both on bar and restaurant. Definitely will be back! Hell, there are at least another 20 dishes to cover 😉
Great food & character pub. From traditional schnitzels to burgers and breakfast on Sundays, this pub does food well. The front outside area is its best feature.
Good pub food. No nonsense, nothing fancy but country sized serves!Front bar is an experience with local characters. Friendly staff. Great prices. Love it. Be there early for dinner as tables fill quickly! As a local we eat here a lot. Surpasses any other local pub!
Great old fashion country pub food. Realy nice burgers on the counter menu. Excellent dining room menu.
