Seriously, let’s begin by admitting that this is hardly a restaurant. It’s an industrial sort of room on the side of a bagel bakery and they do bagels and drinks out of the fridge.BUT…. the bagels are pretty damn good and very fresh. They’ll fill them with cream cheese and Beerenburg products for very little money. I had a toasted onion bagel with cream cheese and beetroot relish and it was absolutely delicious and cost me next to nothing. My companion had a toasted poppy seed bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers and onion for the outrageous price of $9. With a couple of cold drinks we were out of there for $20.If you’re on Richmond Road and you need lunch and you don’t want to pay big prices then this is the go. Just don’t go there for the ambience.

This little place is not really a cafe just yet although apparently they are planning on developing this in the near future. If you like bagels you will like Bagel Boys. All bagels are made on the premises and you can make up a bagel of your choice, The jam ones use Beerenberg products from Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills – great to see.If you want a quick bagel on the run, give them a try. Staff are very friendly and helpful and the products are fresh and tasty. You can also buy bags of bagels and cupcakes to take away. There are a few stools to sit down in there if you want to and it is scrupulously clean. Everything is served in paper bags or paper cups – but this place is not trying to be a dine in cafe.Worth a try! adelaidewriter.com.au
