If you’ve got kids, this place is super fast service. In & out before they’ve finished the complimentary fizzy drink. That aspect is great.Unfortunately it’s very standard fried stuff, very standard beers, standard service, cookie cutter pub stuff..You wouldn’t go there for a special occasion, put it that way.Update – this is the place to take your mum. Very popular with the oldies. And I can see why. Mum can have lunch under the ceiling feature – the Darma logo from the TV show Lost! Deflated balloons from the 1982 Christmas party are still up there with the fluorescent tubes that died long ago. The salad bar will remind mum of her 1982 Women’s Weekly cookbook, which she can enjoy while drinking a glass of sparkling Australian white wine and watching the complimentary cage fighting on TV in the dining room. Nothing like watching a guy in a squirrel hold getting his face repeatedly punched to build an appetite. Loads of great frozen treats ready to go into the fryer ASAP.

Very ordinary pub grub. Too spoilt for choice in the west to head back to The Rex
