Options on menu are pretty standard (crapes & waffles). I ordered a berry crape and wasn’t very impressed – the crape was full of cream & not a lot of berrys. I won’t be coming back in a hurry.
I love the coffee there! Lunch and other foods are only served until 3pm and desserts are available all day. The lunch menu is pretty limited but they have an extensive dessert menu and bits and pieces they have in their fridge (cake etc). I’ve been popping in to grab take away hot drinks for the past year. The waitress’s are always pretty snobby though, rarely see a smile on their face and eye contact is limited when making an order…
I have lived in Mawson Lakes for about six months so I was well overdue to give this place a go, considering I’m a sweet tooth too. Ordered the Heaven in a Sundae. It says on the menu that I get a choice of ice cream. I wasn’t asked what sort of ice cream I would like. The sundae took 20 minutes to get to me. I think that is a long time, even if you are busy.I think the dessert is good value for $9.50 but nothing to write home about. If you are basing your business around desserts, I think you need to be a little more creative. More color. Taller. Bits coming out of it. There are at least 7 staff on today and as mentioned in a previous review, mostly very young. There an air of inefficiency here and not a focus on customer service. They are all behind the counter with the occasional staff member out the front delivering stuff. Definitely no one asking how things are going.The place is packed at the moment. That’s a good sign. Very noisy. No soft furnishing to dampen the noise. Cake cabinet could do with some signage.In summary: I would love to see this place go up a notch. Bit more customer focus.
I recently came here and ordered the strawberry crepe. It was the worse dessert I have possibly ever had. Firstly, the crepe was not a crepe it resembled and had the texture of a pancake. The ice cream was of poor quality and so was the chocolate. Customer service was not that great either. Very disappointed, would not recommend at all.
The taste of their cakes and everything are pretty good and the staff are pretty friendly. However, both times I’ve been here to buy two pieces of takeaway cakes, I have had to wait for literally more than half an hour which is a pretty long time considering that all they had to do was put two pieces of ready made cakes into a box for me
I organised a farewell morning tea here yesterday. I’ve been there before for a beverage and cake. I didn’t know they did other meals???I ordered Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon……..OMG it was delicious I savored every mouthful!!!! The girls also catered for 9 other people whos orders ranged from wraps, fritters, pancakes, sweet potato chips and a special salad. All the food came out together and everyone was very happy with meals. Well done girls. My only complaint ….pot of English Breakfast tea ……too weak and takes too long to brew. I like strong tea and I had to pour leaves into pot and stir for ages to get a colour.
I have been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Nice atmosphere and perfect for a sweet treat with the girls or date night! Great to see a fabulous dessert bar in the North!
