The service was not very good. We ordered and after waiting 20 minutes and not receiving our drinks my wife went to ask for them. The waitress started to argue with her saying she was preparing the entrees, yet there was a cook in the kitchen and we were the only customers. The food arrived and was good, but our used drink glass and empty bottles weren’t removed during the meal so I stacked them on an adjacent table. This still did not prompt the waitress to remove them.My wife paid the bill while I waited outside with the boys. We had a discount voucher for $25 value (not a percentage of the cost). We were charged $131.40 for the meal. My wife assured me the waitress had applied the discount.I came home and totted it up using their online menu and the total, without discount, was – you guessed it $131.40. No discount applied.Wont be back. Dont take kindly to people who are not honest. If you dont want to give discounts, dont join the program.
Got take away the other night. Delicious, just the right amount of spice and flavour! Reasonably priced as well.Have tried other Indian restaurants in the area and been disappointed – will definitely be coming here from now on.
Purchased a Scoopon for 3 courses plus side dishes and a bottle of wineand was rewarded with a magnificent banquet! There is another Shalimar at Blackwood – this one at Melrose Park, opened in August, 2015. The dining area is quite spacious and looks clean and inviting as you come through the door. A bowl with Pappadums was placed on the table, as we decided on what to eat. For entre, we chose the Seekh Kebabs (Rolls of spicedMinced Lamband 3 dipping sauces) and the Dipping Platter (Plain Naan Bread with 3 dipping sauces).Good sizedserves and allvery tasty. For the mains, we decided on the Butter Chicken andGoat do Pyaza, served with Rice, Garlic Naan Bread and chilled wine. It was all presented really well and tasted divine. Service was excellent and the waiter was very friendly. Unfortunately, I left my camera at home, so no photo’s but trust me when I say it was all excellent, both in taste and presentation. The serving sizes were more than generous and we would have no hesitation in returning. Highly Recommend.
