We headed here for dinner recently at last minute and were overall happy. Food was tasty and very traditional with authentic flavours. Although it did take a while for the food to come out it was full of flavour. The papaya salad was delicious but very hot. Friendly staff and a casual atmosphere. Would go back again for sure.
A hidden gem. The best in the west. Weve been dinning here for a long time and for good reason. If youre after delicious tasting and authentic Thai food made fresh to your order you will not find anything comparable to Isaan Village restaurant. As a seasoned foodie and SE Asia traveller I can vouch for this restaurant. Humble and kind hospitality by Welta gives this restaurant the perfect touch of authenticity. Be prepared to wait. Its generally just Welta cooking and the sporadic influx of customers means that staffing is difficult to predict for the owner. Try the fish cakes or Isaan sausage for starters. You wont go wrong with anything to be honest. Great prices. Great food. Amazing Welta. *parking out back.
Went to Isaan Village Thai Restaurant on the spur of a moment…did not disappoint! Lovely, cosy atmosphere. Food was sensational and the service was of the highest quality.!! Even had the chef who is the owner come to us and talk…which was awesome. Will most certainly be back again and highly would recommend. Just yum!! Have been back many times since my first visit and will continue to go there. This place is just awesome!
Well after almost a year, we just gave it another go at the restaurant. I adjusted my previous score and overwrote the comment. Although the food is still not appealing to my taste buds I am more open to diversity than before. The dishes are full of flavours mainly hot and sour. It isn’t bad. It is just very different to the Thai food I am used to. After all they do say their food is the combination of Laos and Thai. And I think the sour part must come from the Laos.
I found a new favourite Asian/Thai restaurant in all of Adelaide…Isaan Village Thai. Food is amazing with enhanced flavours that bring a new element to Asian food…PLEASE VISIT, as I was you will be amazed. Authentic food by a talented chef. Will be back very soon to try other dishes from the menu. Now open for dinner Tues – Sun
Best Thai food I have had in Adelaide. So authentic. The atmosphere the decor but most importantly the smells and flavours coming out of the kitchen. So delicious we will be back very soon. Eat there as soon and as often as you can
As a chef, food praise does not come easily and most times, when it does, it is tempered with some criticism. Not so tonight, from the mismatched Formica furniture to the random order of food arriving to the soaring heights of flavours and tastes, this was the best Thai and most authentic experience I’ve had outside of Thailand. The mood was set with the outstanding Sai Krok, an Isaan delicacy I’ve been hitherto unable to obtain in Adelaide short of making it myself. Every dish that followed became a new favourite, until we recalled the dishes that preceded it. The only problem with returning is trying new dishes as I’m desperate to have the dishes I ate, again.
