Not great at all. I went there quite a while ago now. A friend organised and gushed how great it was so I was looking forward to it. When we tried the food we all agreed, it was bad. The curries were very watery, more soup than a curry and bland flavours. compared with Mr India or exquisite indian its an easy choice where to go. I took my friend to Mr india a couple of weeks later and hes never been back. Id avoid if you can.

Very strange, disappointing!. Although delivered 20 minutes late (total of just over an hour wait), the food was interesting. Okay flavor, just strange. For example, the raita was literally yoghurt with huge chunks of cucumber, very hard to put on top of a curry. The curry itself tasted okay, but there were huge chunks of dry meat in a sauce as thin as a soup. Also ridiculously oily. We also couldn’t tell the difference between the butter chicken and the korma. So runny and average. The naan breads were a bread I have never seen before. I believe a packet type, deep fried. Really disgusting. My cheese naan had a teaspoon of cheese on the side and that was it. Although the servings were large and the overall $40 meal package seemed good value when we ordered, we would have preferred less food at a nicer quality. The samosas and spring rolls were ok, but also I believe frozen packet food and smothered in salt. Our first order from Oh Calcutta. There are so many Indian options in our area, we will try somewhere else next time. Lots of left overs, and not even excited about it! Very disappointing!

2013 Review- Bad food Poor service. I’m taking the time to write this review to hopefully save other people from having the the same bad experience as ours.Myself and my fiance love our indian food and go out and eat it quite regularly, we thought we would try this place as we hadn’t ate there before. We ordered a few main meals and some rice, naan, roti etc., my fiance loves butter chicken and always orders it where ever we go, Once we got home and dished it up we noticed that the butter chicken was more like a soup than a curry and it tasted completely different than any other butter chicken than we had tried before, it was not good, the other two curries were very average too.The Naan and roti were dripping with orange oil and it was soaked right through the bag.My fiance called the restaurant to give feedback and was answered by the chef who was arrogant and rude and pretty much couldn’t care less. There are way way more better Indian restaurants nearby (e.g. Zaika (formerly Rani’s Curry Corner next to the reject shop in Morphett vale and Charminar in Reynella)Just a warning don’t waste your time or money with this place.

Love It. My wife and I have been to Oh Calcutta over many years and have never had a bad meal in all this time .The service is curtious, with a touch of old world charm, although the 60s and 70s music is a nice change from traditional Indian music,it is not destractive to the atmosphere and good quality food served.John’s attention to detail is second to none. Can highly reccomend the Thaili’s.
