Tonight, I felt like was a secret diner on Gordon Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares. We were travelling back to Melbourne from our week break in Adelaide and unfortunately, we stopped here for dinner this evening. The evening started off normal enough, we sat ourselves down in the bistro. I grabbed some menus from the bar. My husband went up to the bar to order our meals and drinks. There was done confusion on whether the kids got to eat for free after 5:30pm. After 5:30pm passed and the order was inputted into the register, deleted and re-inputted in, it was confirmed that the special deal had ended a couple of weeks ago. The staff decided to comp our cola and lemon squash. Whilst ordering the meals, hubby called me over to confirm my choice of fish: battered, grilled or crumbed. Of course, I chose “grilled” to be a little healthy. My son’s meal came out first (chicken parmigiana with chips) and everything looked fine. My order was next up, however, the wait staff brought over a “crumbed” fish. I explained that I had ordered a grilled fish and looked at my husband to confirm, which he did. The staff member said that’s no problem and took my food away. My husband and daughter’s dishes came out next. My meal eventually came out and was placed curtly in front of me. The fish definitely did not have crumb around it this time (✔️) but it also definitely did not look or taste grilled (❌). It was either microwaved or the crumb was pulled off my previous fish. My daughter’s Mac and cheese seemed to missing an important ingredients, cheese! On a positive note, my lemon squash with bitters was nice. The chips were tasty and they did stock my favourite tomato sauce. Overall, we were disappointed with both the standard of food and service. I can not recommend this place to weary travellers journeying home from either Melbourne or Adelaide.

Good and friendly staff, and large portions of foods. They also provide a wide range of beverages and alcohol. We went there on Good Friday, but the foods still came very fast.

A great local pub with 2 for 1 cocktails on a Friday night. I had the grilled fish which is a great pub meal. My fellow guests had the special of garfish and prawns which was very nice.

I just had the worst dinner i have had for decades. Chicken Saltimbocca- a tough chicken thigh hardly eatable with the skin on which had a tinge of brown, the skin looked insipid and pale; prawn skewer looked like 3 dehydrated prawns on a skewer. I could only eat 1. The prosciutto was so tough and leathery you could not chew or swallow it; on a sweet potato mash & garlic cream sauce which was average. What a waste of money totally disappointed with the G
