Worst lunch ever. My prawns were shelled and steamed to just before the rubber stage – probably defrosted from the mass steaming done some time before – completely tasteless. These were drowned in a puddle of luke warm gluggy cream which smelled of garlic hence they called them garlic prawns. Suggestion: Only call them garlic prawns if raw fresh prawns have been cooked in garlic. My wife’s beef salad contained reasonable greens with large sun dried tomatoes that were almost inedibly tough. The beef consisted of mini steaks cooked to a dry death. The beef was inedible.Suggestions: Slice the sun dried tomatoes and get a better quality. Cook the beef to at most medium rare and then slice it thinly.
Nice place, shame about the locals. Beautiful gastro pub, a welcome relief after a long day of driving. Food service was prompt, menu selection and specials catering to every taste. Prices very reasonable. Left early, without a much wanted second glass of wine and a dessert due to rowdy, rude, beer swilling locals who we’re shouting and yelling like they were at the footy. Would have appreciated management controlling the situation so that other diners could enjoy their meals peacefully. Bar manager seemed happy to encourage it though? So, lost income and disgruntled review the result.
