On a Tuesday night it was pretty quiet with only one other table of diners.Entrees of vego spring rolls & beloved shallot cakes were satisfyingly good & hot.The waitress happily brought us some soy sauce for dipping. For the main course we had wonton soup which was tepid & I didn’t like the wontons. We also had Singapore noodles which were also lukewarm & went cold quickly. When the waitress checked if we were enjoying our meal, I mentioned the lack of heat & she took it away to be reheated in the wok. Alas, when it was brought back, it quickly went cold again.

My Wife & Family have been going there since it was refurbished & I believe new Management – Best Chinese satay sauce ever!!! My family & I love it & would be happy just sticking with rice, chicken and latherings of their satay sauce :-)Service is friendly & prompt – had the banquet with a group a couple of times and we struggled to eat it all – good quality dishes and we are all big eaters.

Chinese Garden used to be my go-to Chinese take out place, ordered from there tonight and it seems as though all the recipes have changed, not sure if this means there has been a change of owners. The food was bland, the meat in the dishes was dry, the sweet and sour pork was very thickly battered and unpleasant. Will not order from Chinese Garden again 🙁

If you want to to travel back in time to your childhood suburban Chinese, this is the place to go. All the usual suspects: lemon chicken, sweet and sour pork, beef and black bean, all with the obligatory fried rice and prawn chips. It’s good quality local Chinese. It opens early and is family friendly. No flocked wall paper any more as the refurbished quite recently, but if you have a hankering for some spring rolls and perhaps deep fried ice cream for desert, then yes, all that traditional fare is still being served up, quickly and well.
