We went to Grotto for pizza recently and we were very impressed. Despite a slight wait time for our pizza we weren’t at all disappointed. The base was thinly rolled and topped with fresh flavours. We want a large pizza, half Mr potato head and half meatball. It was smashing, so tasty. The atmosphere was relaxed and people were sitting in and out picking up orders. I’d definitely go back more often if I was closer to that side of the city. Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.
I found out about this place a few months ago and loved it straight away! It a little tucked away restaurant from the main strip of The Parade Norwood. It was really busy when I went, so I was lucky enough to get a table. Definitely will return
Brilliant pizza bar tacked away around the parade gives it a taste of Melbourne laneway. Good old fashion service with great produce which makes it a great pizza bar. For those that want extra topping and a thick oily base stick to your franchise pizza’s.
I used to visit grotto more often than I do now, mainly as I have found another local pizza bar to be slightly superior. Having said that, I do enjoy the Athenian and Grotto pizza’s and the intimate size and atmosphere are enjoyable for a small group.
Been here several times. It doesn’t come close to 400 gradi (melbourne) but no one does…. definately a very good Italian style pizza at grotto Only once I received them over cooked. But every other time have been very satisfied. I always leave with a huge bloat. They make a good pizza!
Recently moved to the area so thought we’d check it out as was nearby. We ordered takeaway so can’t comment on the service. Unfortunately nothing special about these pizzas, especially for the price. Thin bases but a bit dry. Much better tasting and better value pizzas around town. Unfortunately won’t be going there again.
