The experience was terrible. The waitress albeit sweet had no idea. Most glasses of wine she poured she spilled, and as far as wine knowledge – zero. The food was ok, but service was a cafe at best. Plates taken before everyone was finished – despite trying to educate the waitress. No idea of serving from the right .. that wouldn’t have even been understood. My green tea was a tea bag and 50 mls of water until I asked .. and then the waiter laughed .. was it funny?? we were at the back of the ‘cafe’ and the spot light created no ambience. Sad really as it used to be a higher quality restaurant and now it’s a cafe at best. If s cafe then charge cafe prices not restaurant prices. The two finals straws were watching the waitress leave her shift with a cigarette hanging from her mouth and the chef smoking at the front door. Best idea – give it a miss!

Evening meal with partner and a dear friend at a restaurant we had not tried before turned out to be a great eating experience. It was not busy in the main restaurant, but there was a sizable function in the function area – this did not detract from the service which was excellent. The decor is functional, comfortable, a lot of room set aside for each table and very clean. However topping all this was the food, cooked fresh and exactly to your requirement – want less chili? want extra olives? – not a problem – this touch of fresh cooked serves is not all that common, but greatly appreciated.Entrees we tried were the staple Arancini de Piselli which was great and the Haloumi which got a big tick.Mains were Fettuccine with blue swimmer crab (delicious), variation on the Gnocchi Ragu which had wild hare in place of the veal (close to the nicest meal I have tasted) and Rigatoni with duck. We chatted about the mains after the meal and each person thought they had the better meal – says a lot for the quality of the food – incredible.Forgot to add – service was timely and knowledgeable, drink selection was broad enough to cover most and well priced. Our total bill including drinks was $200.You should give this a try.

Had a really lovely experience at Martini last night. Staff were bright & vivacious, though there were some quite expansive wait times between courses. We started with a sharing platter with some meats and cheeses, garlicky toast & frittata. Main: I had quail – honestly it was delicious. Generous amount of meat and had bitter radicchio to cut through the fullness of the rich buttery grappa sauce.Roast potatoes were crispy as and delicious as hell. Side of veg was teensy but really delicious. Dessert: I indulged my sweet tooth with the trifle. Crisp crusted pannetone soaked in bitter alcohol, with berries & custard cream. I definitely could’ve had the custard a little more vanilla-y but that’s personal taste.Love that so much of the produce is local. Beautiful Italian and a great place to go for a fancy dinner.

Great service, waitress knew her stuff. I had a delicious serve of the Gnocchi al la Ragu. Very flavoursome with a rich tomato and meat sauce. Super filling. Authentic Italian cooking.

We had nice pasta dishes there and the serves were generous. The restaurant had a friendly atmosphere. Good value for good food. We would come back.

Larry looked after us so well last night. It was my bday dinner and I had 12 ppl. We ordered the chef’s table where Larry chose our menu of antipasto, main and dessert. We were floored at how much food he gave us! 9 courses plus bread for only $60pp. A beautiful mix of foods- veal involtini, deep-fried zucchini flowers, seafood risotto and bombolini with popping candy. Yum.

I’m a regular diner at Martini and there’s good reason for that – the food is sensational. I recently dined with some work colleagues and the entire table was raving about the food. We left the menu up to Larry and his team and for me it was nice to experience some new things. My regular go tos are the pappadelle con anatra and bomboloni di banana – so of course they were included in the selection. The servings were generous and as per usual I left very satisfied. I seriously love this place and love that I can return anytime and enjoy my favourite southern Italian dishes!
