Absolutely abysmal! Quick Gordon Ramsay …. Help these guys out before they sink this ship. $95 for a platter for two and sparkling water. I haven’t felt that dissatisfied by what was served in a long time. One slice of lemon each. Had to ask for tartare. Waitress grumpy and down right foul to deal with. She asked us if we would like the platter put on a frame. Just put it on a frame for $95! Decor tired and old. Restaurant cold. Seafood over cooked. Prawns and calamari tasted like PFD rubbish. Laminated menus. Food presented at the table was a plate of salad and chips with the other rubbish on another centre plate. Salads and breads were prepared in an area in front of us clearly not up to standard for a food preparation area (carpet on floor). The health inspector at the council should look at this.

This restaurant is stuck in some kind of time warp. It’s a fish restaurant & the 2 choices of fish I would have chosen weren’t available. The whiting & scallops I had were very average & the ‘wedges’ were awful with no flavor obviously cooked in cheap vegetable oil. For what you get, including the lack of finesse in how it’s served it is also overpriced.

Straight up old school Aussie style fish and chip restaurant. This is not a fine dining restaurant but but offers value for money. Scallops /Oysters = fresh and flavoursome. The chips were crisp, hot, and hand cut. The salad is a mix of greens dressed in olive oil and lemon. Perfectly sensible and fresh. The fish was cooked as it should be. Perhaps the low key, non hyped style, won’t suit all diners, but it made me nostalgic. I will be back.

You know what you are getting at Paul’s – fish and chips. Their special today was whiting – two fillets with chips and salad. I find king George whiting insipid- always so. Maybe battered is best. Chips were average – the salad? A few lettuce leaves – hardly worth eating. The best part of the meal was the crumbed scallops – hervy bay scallops – delicious. I think Paul’s has to do something new and fresh if they want to survive in the competitiveness of The Parade. Frankly I won’t be back till then.

Very nice lunch. The food was straightforward South Australian seafood. So, the highest quality. We were easily ‘upsold’ 21 oysters!. Both Kilpatrick and Natural.Coffin Bay oysters are the best in the world. Two Tasmanian visitors chose KG Whiting, readily available in SA but not in Tassie. It was fantastic. I had Butterfish with the freshest SA squid (Calamari) I have had.

This is a huge family favorite. Whether it be for a large group of an intimate dinner for two, this gorgeous little fish restaurant never fails to please. Simple fresh fish served however you’d like it, but homemade chips and fresh salad. It’s simple perfection every time. The balcony on a summers night with a crisp bottle of Chenin Blanc and a serve of lemon doused crispy whitebait is what dining in Adelaide is all about.
