An open spacious cafe/restaurant to dine in. The glass feature walls make the area look a lot wider and bright. There are newspapers stuck all over the walls – ?look like they are doing some renovation. Services – staffs on board are not very friendly at all. Seems to be inattentive and couldn’t really care. Incorrect information given at times about their beverages. I was told their coffee is pretty strong, had a double shot latte but was given in a tall glass and I could barely taste the coffee at all. However, some good recommendation given on the food menu. Speed of service is also pretty good. Food – serving here is pretty decent. Worth the value. love the pan seared tuna salad. The salad was refreshing, well dressed but might be better if it can be served in smaller pieces. Tuna was seared to perfection and well seasoned. Beautiful poached eggs with the runny egg yolk is perfect to bring the whole dish together. Meatball pasta was lacking some seasoning. Definitely need some salt and pepper and personally I would love to have a hint of chilli in there as well. Beverages – mentioned above, coffee weak. If you like weak coffee this would be all good. Average wine list. I would still be back to try their lemon souffl hot cake which sound very interesting but they only served that for brekky. Hopefully services improve the next time I’m there.

Ambiance: 7 / 10It’s open plan and airy but, warm. We were there for lunch on an earlywinter cold snap with pouring rain. The big windows juxtaposed the conditionsoutside to the cosiness inside. It can get a little loud though with acoustics beingsharp but, some would say that adds to the buzz of the place. Theres 2upstairs function rooms that are worth keeping in mind.Winelist: 8.5 / 10 Theowner/manager knows his stuff with interesting, unique and different wines. Finally, someone who chooses the wines on merit not the label. Im considering maybe a9/10 as I write.Service: 8 / 10 Again, the Boss has clearly been around hospitality for a long time with an almostpsychic 6th sense for our needs without any intimidating hover. Hisassistants have been well mentored too. It all adds up to polite, professionalyet, calm and relaxing imbibing.Cuisine: 8 / 10 Comprehensivemenu both for how hungry and styles. Mine was served almost cold though but, fantastic texture, flavour balance and harmony. It was a small portion size aswell even though it was termed a Main. Perhaps I just chose mine poorly as my2 friends were in raptures and theyre both foodies (ones a chef and the otheris a master home cook). Ive given an extra point bowing to their opinions.Value for what you get: 8.5 / 10 This place is a bit of a hidden gem, moderately priced with its quality above its price pointThe deal maker or breaker; would I go back? Already planned.40 / 50

Frequently dine here and love it! Wonderful atmosphere and love the interesting and funny conversations with the owner. The fish specials are always so fresh and full of flavour, but its also hard to go past the Char grilled Cape Grim Fillet of Beef, Roasted Garlic, Deep Fried Egg, Pancetta Roasted Potatoes.

Update:- we were in a rush and thought we would give this place another try. Let’s first talk about the service or to be honest lack of. It was like walking into a ghost town. One of the cooks came out and tried to find the menus. The steak sandwich was interesting raw meat and burnt toast. The tuna salad as my previous review is still screaming for a dressing. Both wine glasses has chips in the base. And what is it with the sugar bowls with this place. You always had to go looking for a sugar bowl from another table and this is still the issue only 4 sugar bowls seen at time of review. The sugar bowl brought to the table was filthy outside with a chip and a crack. Serious this place needs a huge overhaul of the staff, menu and buy some new glassware and get s sugar bowl for every table. It had been some time since I last had a meal here so I thought I would give it another try. Table service was very disappointing as apparently it is okay to serve food on a table that is not clean. Food was quite average crab cakes were very deep fried and lacked seasoning. Tuna salad looked nice but needed a good dressing to compliment the colours in the salad. The tap water smelt like someone had cleaned out their fish tank. Handy location but very disappointing.

So French y so chic. Nice set-up, menu reads well. Hand-cut chips – they may have been hand cut- but they weren’t chips. Boiled potatoes, lightly fried ain’t chips. They tasted like steamed potatoes. French classic Croque Monsieur, leg ham, gruyere, creme fraiche, mustard, sounds great– reality, 1 razor thin slice prosciutto, no cheese, a smear of mustard and too much bread. Oh well.

SUBLIME. I have been to Vileroys for lunches, dinners and events. The food has always had a WOW factor with good service. I believe this is one of Adelaide’s special places, ambiance has a casual and relax feel about it while maintaining a little bit of the upper lip. The other night I dine with 22 people on a set menu which took us to another level, the food was just sublime. The dessert was of the lightest pastry filled with baby green figs topped with house made I/cream just divine. I have eaten around the world but VILEROY is the world. Congratulations the team of VILEROY.
