The tavern has a very local feel to it and seems like a family run affair. They do have slot machines, pool table and the works though. Pretty big overall with a huge bar area and a small restaurant. Seemed it is mainly frequented by the locals and a good way to get a feel of the local culture. We didn’t have much hopes but were very happy with the options on offer. The flatbread we ordered for antipasti turned out to be a pizza itself! Pizza and pesto pasta were yum. Plenty of wines were on offer and the house wine was cheap but crisp. The owner was very friendly and gave us huge servings just to taste the wines – we almost didn’t order a wine ;)Very light on the pocket, this is definitely a good dinner place if you are in the Barossa Valley.

Well where do I start! Staff/ management absolutely disgraceful, waiting over and hour and a half before they confirmed the had missed putting our orders through. 2.5 hours later finally got our meals. The fish was withered and dry, ref pictures. The Caesar salad was the worse one ever, with dry as chicken and forgot the anchovies. When spoke to management re the above they offered a complimentary soft drink??? To top of off the take away pizza was the size of a 5 cent piece in a large box. Should have run away and not looked back!!! Never go here, the guys that work here should do their job by going into the rear room where numerous people were starving!!

Of course, the actual tavern is open long hours, but the kitchen doesn’t open for dinner until 6pm. We were lucky to get a table even on a weeknight, as locals tend to book. Vegetarian pizzas, I can attest, were scrumptious, and covered 4 food groups. My tweenie and I ordered a large one, and could not eat 3/4 of it. Charming staff happily gave us a T/A box.The front room of the lounge has a fireplace and all the noise drifting across from the front bar. The back room has only 3 tables and is quieter, has no fireplace but does have a large Penfolds Wines mirror (actually near Penfolds!). Local beer/ale (Greenock Brewery) on tap. The only other vegetarian meal is a Vegetable Stack, and as long as you book, that’s the only drawback I can think of.

Wait a while. Really disappointed with the service, waited for 90 minutes on a wine tour, no staff , poorly run establishment Food was ok when it finally arrived.Needs 101 service training.
