A cafe without any of the pretence, that reminds you of the honest goodness of simple food and sincere service. Im not sure how busy trade normally is, but I picture this place being a perfect spot for a quiet lunch with a close friend. I look forward very much to returning.

Was op-shopping at the RSPCA next door and decided to get my caffeine kick here today. Service is delightful, as the shop is run by a friendly lady called Kathy (Cathy?) and her friend who volunteers with Salvos. Despite Kathys lack of faith in her coffee making abilities, I had a perfect cappuccino without a trace of bitterness or sourness. After chatting with the Salvos ladys sister who came in, I decided to get lunch too- a hearty and generous serve of lentil soup with some crusty bread and butter on the side for $11. While the bread was a little on the crisp bread side and not as thick as I hoped, it complimented the soup deliciously. The ambience of this place is vintage, warm and interesting, with selections of vintage cookbooks and household books from the eighties, colourful tables and pots with plenty of wooden decor and creative additions. A charming place to get reasonably priced food and coffee in warmth and comfort, complete with delightful service.

This cafe is very expensive for very average food. The owner is extremely rude and heartless! My elderly mother lives close by and often used to come in to have coffee and sausage rolls. The last time she was in the owner said she had been there too long and asked her to leave, she even threatened to call the police….This person is a disgusting human being! my mother suffers from depression and is very frail, just wants to get out of the house for a while. AVOID this overpriced rude cafe. Plenty of other more welcoming places around!

very good coffee in a cafe where the owner informed me that everything is homemade from scratch so she can’t predict the menu.a diamond in the rough
