Our first and dine-in visit started ok but quickly moved to bad as the meal progressed. Service was very haphazard and our last dish took a very long time to arrive. Theyre obviously very busy with takeaway orders but sadly its clear the kitchen is unable to or unsure how to manage this demand with those dining in. The steamed vegetarian dumplings were the best dish of the night but quite a bit smaller then expected and not hot enough. The pan fried pork dumplings were overdone to our liking and as with the other dumplings these are not house made but bought in. All up a bit meh. Our spring onion pancake for some reason was served in a takeaway bag at the table and again was very over fried and oily. The worse dish of the night was the ginger with shredded pork and noodles. I dont know what the chef was thinking but this was the most unauthentic version of this dish Ive ever had. Think cooked spaghetti with a jar of sweet kan tong sauce poured over the top with some pork and lots of capsicum. It was bad. Not recommended, even for a quick takeaway.
Could eat about 5000 of their dumplings! Absolutely amazing and come to your table piping hot. I have had many dishes here and the 2 that are a stand out for me are the Dumplings Laksa and the BBQ pork buns which are my guilty pleasure. Overall the food and the service are exquisite. If it’s a busy night and you’ve had to wait longer the girls often throw in a bag of prawn crackers. Best local Asian cuisine.
So can good food come from a Supermarket Shopping Centre in Pasadena?Even more, can good food come from a place calling itself Yumlicious?Well, yes apparently.Looking for a quick lunch in the area I went here and ordered the Shredded Pork and Ginger with Noodles. After a bit of a wait it arrived. A big, generous serve with the pork and ginger on one side of the plate and the bare noodles on the other. (I notice that they also do pork and ginger and pork and ginger with rice – I reckon they cook the meat separately and then put the right accompaniment with it.)I mixed the noodles and the meat together and it was delicious. Full of pork and black fungus, with ginger, fresh red and green capsicum in a sauce full of black pepper, vinegar and chilli it was outstanding. If other things on the menu are that good, then Pasadena…. good news!Prices are perhaps a bit hiugher than you might get in GOuger Street, but even so. Worth it.
Love this place! It’s my local dumplings hangout and I always get cravings for the steamed pork dumplings and Singapore fried vermicelli. Friendly staff and quick service, been here hundreds of times and have been happy every time.
I have been coming here for years. Only for the fried pork dumplings. Which are delicious. I had the crispy chilli beef once and it was very good too. It gets busy and noisy at noon but if you go a bit early it’s awesome. Value too $6.50 for a half serve (7 pieces). The main reason I come is the homemade chilli sauce. To die for. Mix with a dash of the vinegar and you have a serious sauce. They sell little pots of it too. Bliss.
They always seem to be messing the order up due to miscommunications. Other than that, food is good and restaurant is clean. Great dumplings and pork buns.
Great dumplings and great prices – the best you’ll get for miles. Totally not an eat-in situation unless ‘Formica tables takeaway store’ is an ambiance you enjoy . Highly recommended.
