My last meal in Kangaroo Island. Found this cafe near the ferry terminal and ordered Chicken linguine. The chicken was super good!! Perfectly cooked and tasty! The linguine was soft which perfectly match my taste! The chocolate brownie was normal.Staff was friendly. Yet, the dinner session starts at 1730 and it is not convenient enough if you are living far away from Pennashaw.
Restaurant which is also selling the timber products that are very unique, it opens at 5:30 which is quite late for me but still a nice place in Kangaroo Island. They sell what they think are fresh. For the pasta, good chicken they had made but the linguine was a bit soft for me. I would like to have a little bit chewy texture of it but it’s not. For their homemade brownies, it was quite good coz it would not be too hard, good with some walnut, yet it will be much better if it could be more hot when served with ice cream. Anyway, it is better than nothing in kangaroo island.
This was recommended by our AirBnB host and we checked it out before visiting. The place is big with different kind of seating options – table, sofas etc. The presence of a shop up ahead makes the overall atmo very casual though – not necessarily a great thing when the restaurant gives a very formal kind of vibe frankly. But it was nice, snug and warm for dinner when we reached here. They had already told us about the vegetarian options and that did not disappoint. Though not on the menu, they did a nice Pasta. The breads weren’t great though. There weren’t very many wines on offer either. So overall a less than stellar experience I’d say.
Here for lunch and the food was quite good and the service was reasonable. It would have been nice for some of the breakfast menus items, such as sandwiches to be available throughout the day.
