Lunch. Just had lunch at Bluebush Cafe. Ambience was lovely, food was delicious, staff that served this lunch were wonderful. I was on a high, on the way out husband said to the woman at the counter (had just started serving) Thank you, that was delicious. The response was, oh, I had nothing to do with it. Deflated feeling. It would have been nice if she had graciously accepted the compliment on behalf of the staff and perhaps passed it on. A couple of months ago, I had waited quite a while at the table for service so decided to go to the register to order thinking that was what was required. This same person came up to me and said, sit down I’ll get to you shortly. It was a busy day I understand, but not being acknowledged initially and then to be told abruptly was not a pleasant experience. Such a shame as other staff are brilliant. I did notice today that there were notices on how ordering was done. communication is the key.
Great Brekkie. Stopped here for breakfast on my way to Coober Pedy, got polite and efficient service, good food, great coffee and a spectacular quandong smoothie – all in the scenic arid lands gardens.
Beautiful surroundings – the view of the Botanic Gardens and the ranges is spectacular. Good coffee and the scones are big and fluffy. Try the quangdong jam and then walk off the treat with a stroll around the gardens.
