The steak sandwiches at the Rising Sun Hotel are fantastic, but only available for lunch. Ad this was a dinner visit I went with the chicken schnitzel with mushroom gravy. A HUGE schnitzel arrived with good mushroom sauce. Complimentary salad bar with fresh salads. Decent pub grub. The staff were friendly. There is a nice atmosphere in the pub as the pokies are tucked away.

Been here twice now passing through, and they have good pub food. Remember the first time being a little better than the 2nd with interesting veges in the salad/ veg bar in winter. The summer salads not so revolutionary, and my schnitzel was a bit greasy the 2nd time (oil not hot enough perhaps?). All in all a really good place to stop for food in Port Wakefield however!
