This is my local so I’m not going to be too brutal. It’s okay for pub food but it’s not the best, there are things that could be improved. Today I had the trio of sliders, the meat was dry and a little bland but you are getting what you pay for at $19.00. I find the service mostly consistent and the drink prices are good but when they have events on the big TVs outside it is so loud you can’t talk. I’ll still keep going here but it’s no spot for a first date or fancy dinner.
How disappointing the Seaton has become. They lost their great chef Keith who use to cook the perfect steak.I had a party of 8 for mums birthday. I ordered a menu special wagu rump medium rare with seafood sauce and swirly potatoes. I DID NOT get a wagu rump!!!! This piece of meat was toughest I’ve ever eaten full of grissle which I couldn’t see thanks to the sauce. I had to keep putting bits of it into the serviette because I couldn’t chew it! I ended up leaving most of it. I told the waitress how bad it was she said the cook will talk to his supplier DER yeah cause that’s false advertising and you’re charging astronomical prices for cap meat. Sauce and chips were OK. More to come……my s-i-l’s gravy had lumps in it……lumps of gravy powder????? Mum’s schnitzel was over cooked and dry……Salad bar. ….for the record coleslaw doesn’t have onion in it!!!! Only thing I found I thought I could eat.Unfortunately I won’t be booking again until food improves PS staff are friendly
Prompt efficient service and good value for money.Biggest schnitzels I’ve ever had and they taste great. It’s a working class establishment which is great for a casual beer and meal. Been there twice, on a Friday and Saturday night and it was packed, which speaks for itself. Don’t get delusions of grandeur coming here just enjoy it for what it is.
Have heard from a few people that the food and salad bar at this hotel are excellent so decided to try it. There were 10 of us there. 5 meals were bought out first. The other 5, including a kids meal, came out at least 15 minutes later. Of the 10 meals, 6 were extremely overcooked (including the kids chicken nuggets, I mean how do you get nuggets wrong!) Salt and pepper squid was inedible and the Caesar salad wss so dry. Salad/veggie bar was awful. Pumpkin and carrots so soggy you couldn’t grab with the tongs and nothing else was good either. Worst hotel meal we’ve ever had and most disappointing of all we were there celebrating our daughter’s birthday.
Great service good specials and fresh modern menus – the meals never disappoints. Important to book as they are busy most nights of the week.
