We’ve been regulars at Beau Thai for years, but tonight they let us down.Beef satays were rawThe choo-chee sauce was watery and flavourless, served with gluggy chicken (not crispy like normal)Pork larp just seemed full of overpowering chunks of red onion. $41 worth of takeaway has pretty much gone in the bin.I called to let them know we were disappointed. But i think we’ll sadly just talk with our feet and not come back.

Beau Thai is a great little restaurant located on Semaphore road heading away from the beach. They have an extensive menu with traditional Thai dishes and some other Asian favorites. The entree soups are delicious and hearty, especially the tom kha gai. 6 of us shared 5 mains and steamed rice and there was plenty to go around. The beef hot plate, salt and pepper calamari and pad Thai were popular options. We also ordered the Penang beef which was delicious and packed full of chilli heat for those who can handle it. The service is good and portions are generous. Takeaway is also available. Book ahead to guarantee a table especially on the weekend.

Not too bad. The food was tasty and fresh and well made. The Chilli duck was particularly good. The green curry I thought was OK but nothing special. Some reveiwers here have mentioned small serving sizes – I’d agree somewhat; serving sizes were fine but every last scrap on the plate was definitely eaten. I found the staff to be perfectly friendly and in no way did we feel rushed to eat and leave. Value for money I thought was actually pretty good. I do agree the staff don’t revisit the table to check how you’re going – but everytime we approached them for another drink etc it was taken care of promptly. Waiting times were also quite fast. The other thing I didn’t like is they use serviettes, not napkins. I hate serviettes. The ambience in the front take away area is nice – I liked the decor. The dining rooms though….hmmm. It felt like I was having dinner in my dear Granny’s lounge room. Therefore: Takeaway = yes. Dine in = Nah…there’s nicer places to dine.

Got takeaway phad thai and salt & pepper tofu tonight. Staff were nice and friendly, and the food came out in good time. Yummy food and met my expectations for a decent Thai place.

Not disappointed.. I can’t understand what the bad reviewers are on about but when you go to a restaurant and its full, you know they must be doing something right. I booked a table for 2 and when we arrived, we were greeted warmly and taken to our table. And when the waiter remembers your name from a previous booking in January this year, that’s amazing! 2 mins later, the waiter came back and asked if we would like to move to a quieter table in the adjoining room as there was a large group at the banquet table opposite thoroughly enjoying themselves. A very thoughtful gesture. Even though they were very busy The drinks and food came in a timely manner. We had Spring rolls, Pineapple fried rice with chicken and the Special beef hot plate. Awesome!

Went to this restaurant on the11.5.13. Appalling service from the start. We felt like we were rushed into ordering. We got asked while ordering what we wanted to drink, and that was it…for the rest of the night until they came to pick up our plates and ask ‘are you done’? No offer of a 2nd drink or even dessert/coffee. Thank god we ordered a jug of water. Everything we ordered was over cooked, and very expensive. We should have got fish and chips from up the road. My boyfriend went home with a sore jaw from the excessive chewing from the deep fried & battered chicken mess he was served. Really disappointing.
