Very nice place for a meal down at the beach! They have in the past year renovated the inside area which looks beautiful! The food is very good and I have never had a problem with the service, always quick and friendly! I’m looking forward to many summer evenings grabbing a bite to eat at the Palais and watching the sunset!
Two and a half points out of three for the location.Saturday lunch by the sea in the sunshine. Not much can be said about the food. Very ordinary pub grub. Salad bar and vegetable bar should have turned us away straight up.Staff all very friendly and professional.The beer was cold and all considered not a bad selection of wines.
Came for Lunchies yesterday and our eyes were much bigger than our bellies that’s for sure!Had the $1 & $2 oyster special so we made the most of that and then shared jalapeno poppers -they were spicy little goodies and the natural oysters in particular dam good!! Then finished off by sharing the crispy chicken burger and vege burger – both were deelish but had 2take a doggy bag home. Vege burger- crumbed eggplant, halumi, giant mushroom and the usual salad trimmings, but the relish made a definate mark on the flavour. Chicken burger was also awesomely spiced as tho it was a deep fried southern style chicken- & very tasty indeed.Only thing, service was pretty slow considering how quiet they were and unfortunately the staff weren’t too welcoming. Was a nice area to dine in but don’t think I’ll be back in a real hurry
We sat on the upstairs deck and sipped some coffee after a walk from Largs Bay. It was a much needed rest and a lovely coffee. The staff were friendly and the service was prompt. It was so nice and relaxing to sit looking at the beach. Fantastic views.
Went here for lunch a month ago on a Saturday afternoon All I ordered was the palais burgerWith so many burger places around these days this burger puts a lot of them to shameCouldn’t fault it in any way,bun soft an fresh,salad was fresh,and the patty was just made that morning,delicious in every aspectDefinitely recommend the palais,and it looks cool after the renovation ,well done
Good food for a pub, it is a pub so don’t expect fine dining. Meals come out fairly fast. Great location right on the water. Meals are reasonably priced.
If you are in for a fun night of dancing go there but for food you might want to go somewhere else! Low quality pub meals… Still ok if you stick to some platters!
