Because everything is cooked on the same grill, all burgers have that same burnt taste. Although we went in a voucher, we decided not to come back. The chips were nicer.
Bought the groupon/scoopon deal for a weekend lunch. Ordered Rocky Mountain High & Mushroom Burgers. Both were delicious. Loved the decor and the vibe. We are happy.
Disappointing is an understatement… Food was cold when picked up, both our burgers had no flavour and left a gross after taste, and the chips were soggy and cold. Not worth the price. Waste of time, waste of money. Was really looking forward to our dinner tonight…
The girl serving was so lovely, but the the chicken burger I got was all bun no chicken, tasteless and the chips were soggy with no salt wouldnt go back
I took the kids to Burger Foundry today for a bit of an outing on their day off. Like others, I’d say the burgers were good – but not great. However it was the place was run that struck me most. The guy cooking burgers was eating the entire time we were there – he’d take a mouthful of Oreo’s or chips then handle customers food – you might get away with that if the kitchen is out of sight, but not when you’re in a big glass window facing the restaurant. The girl that was serving also did a great impression of not wanting to be there. Slouching on the counter top, wandering around with a half eaten pack of Oreo’s, slurping on her drink bottle etc.. If I were the owner I’d be going through the place like a dose of salts. It needs a damn good clean judging by the state of the grease on the tiles and the staff need a bit of food safety training and motivational training! All in all – burgers were good, but the service and state of the place let it down. Also having half the chairs still upended on tables during lunchtime service (1.30 on a friday) showed a distinct lack of ambition – and created a danger for young kids that could easily pull them down on themselves.
I am appalled by the number of negative comments about Burger Foundry but all I can say is that the burgers and the add-ons are well-cooked and also good combination, people are nice and chips are awesome. My favourite is the Texan Madness with its nice spicy flavour. 🙂 I’ve been here several times both Magill and Torrensville, and will still come back again.
I really wanted to like Burger Foundry, as it’s a short distance from my house, they have $4 beer specials and kids eat free Monday-Wednesday. They commit the cardinal sin for a burger joint however…there burgers are just not that good. There seems little variation orimagination that has gone into the burgers and the patty itself is dry and pretty tasteless. They even have a burger wall of fame, with burgers you wish you could order, that you can’t.The dcor is nice and my daughter likes the mini pool table and fussball. There is plenty of effort that has gone into the set up, if only the same had gone into the menu.
