The Organic Market is in a leafy side street in Stirling. Parking can be tricky so it is advisable to park in the Woolworth’s carpark or over the main road in the large carpark behind Foodland. The cafe has seating inside, in an enclosed verandah, or outside under umbrellas. It can be very noisy inside when the cafe is busy, so outside it a better choice, weather permitting. The umbrella area is also the dog-friendly part and on the day I was last there, 14 dogs were in this area which is great if you are a dog-lover; otherwise you may prefer to sit inside. In general, I find the service very ordinary. When bringing the food, the staff do not bring serviettes to the table and will not provide bottles for water so you have to go back to the water fountain inside many times to refill the small water glasses that are usually hot and sometimes not that clean. There is not a lot of choice on the menu, which is okay, but the staff seem to expect that you will know what is on the menu rather than help with suggestions/interpretations.The compote with stewed fruit was tasty and enjoyable to eat. However, I would not recommend the dip platter. The bread was exceptionally hard, making it difficult to eat, and the big chunks of carrot and cucumber were off-putting. I did not enjoy this dish at all – I presume the dips were house made but they didn’t taste much different from those I have bought in the supermarket. The lentil soup was tasty but nothing exceptional. Of all the three dishes, the compote is the only one I would have again. The coffee was good and had plenty of depth to it but they had limited tea choices which I found surprising considering this is an organic cafe. While it was great that they had an extra staff member using an iPad to take orders to help with the queue, there was not a lot of customer service, very few smiles and no follow up service. In the outside area, there were food scraps on the ground and the table had not been wiped and was not wiped when the food was delivered.Summary: Overall this experience was okay. Customer service average; food average; coffee good. Worth a try? Yes – it’s a popular place but it could be better. adelaidewriter.com.au
This place is a bit hit and miss. I’ve had nice meals here and then average and all in all I don’t find it overly friendly. They are super busy most of the time but I find there’s a tiny bit of snippiness that is pretty common in this organic/health food industry. It is handy to pop in for a coffee and pick up some organic items, but I don’t find the staff to be overly helpful. They just seem too busy to bother with customers. On our most recent visit we were brusquely informed we were 15 mins off the allocated breakfast menu, that’s your prerogative to not serve all day brekky. It’s our choice to leave. Which we did. I have friends who adore this place, so they have their following. It just doesn’t wow me that much.
For all the hype of an organic cafe it falls into the OK category. On multiple occasions food has taken a very long time to come (very small kitchen so understandable but still, I’m hungry)The food in general is fresh but a lack of imagination on the menu limits it to a 3 star rating I’m afraid. If I’m also not mistaken the organic part is the market side not the cafe( please correct me if I’m wrong ) All in all not bad but won’t blow your mind. On the other hand if your not used to the leafy streets of Stirling and fresh air then the food won’t matter ( and it’s not bad by any stretch just a slight lack of imagination) and it may possibly just blow your mind.
Wholesome, hearty, homemade goodness. On a busy wintry day Mum took me for lunch (thanks mum) and we both had lentil and vegetable soup which had a full, rich flavour and was a tiny bit spicy in the best possible way. Served with a warm, wholemeal roll that had the best crust and was a bit like a damper. Shared a banana walnut & date muffin full of massive bits of all the good stuff- massive crusty muffin top & great texture from the walnuts. Served warm and in a timely fashion.I love this place.
Driving through beautiful Stirling we found this quirky little place. The cafe has its own verandah which faces to a carpark, but still with good weather and the wonderful produce you will enjoy. We had the salmon foccacia and this dish really made our day. Well prepared and well presented. Really good.
Stopped in here for a quick lunch in between a wedding ceremony and reception. The friendly staff were very accommodating making a vegan dip plate for us. Food was fresh and tasty. Will return and recommend.
Great little cafe in the hills with a fresh and seasonal menu. We had juices, coffee and a dip platter which came with plenty of unexpected vegetables and crackers, along with three beautiful house-made dips.
