My partner and I came here for lunch on a Wednesday a few weeks ago, it wasn’t overly busy so service was prompt and friendly. The food was great, particularly the chicken satay skewers and the salt and pepper chicken. The food tasted fresh and of good quality. The entire meal was quite a bit cheaper than I expected too, the entire lunch plus a glass of wine each came to $40. I was very happy with my experience and will be visiting again soon.
Quite a nice food outlet for lunch. I’ve been twice now, and the both occasions were reasonably good! Our favourites include the steamed prawn dumplings, and the chicken and vegetables stir-fry. The fried chicken and prawn dumplings and fried rice were both average – nice but not standouts. Lastly I wouldn’t recommend the Singapore noodles, they tasted like noodles saturated in curry power. Although the service was average, staff were very cooperative with nut allergies! If you’re in the area i’d try this place out – there are definitely some delicious dishes on the menu!
The food here is good such as the dumplings with soup on the inside and the pork dumplings. The servide is really bad. I dont know why they havent tried to improve it. The food never comes out in time or takes for ever. The staff also ignore you a lot when you call themRegardless i still come back because i love dumplings
friendly but very average salty food in very tiny portions, not happy, and nobody asked if all is ok, not going back or recommend to anyone.
Not enough staff for the busy times, we haven’t been served a menu or had a cleaned table unless we prompt them 5 times. In the end we left without even having a chance to order. When prompted, the waitress just dismissed us with a hand. We won’t be back.
The food service is prompt upon placing order. Their staff are friendly and attentive. The menu is reasonably priced, not cheap, but not over priced. I’d recommend.
I have ventured into this establishment a few times now as the food is quite nice, simple and fresh. But! I will have to agree with the previous reviewers, that the service really needs an uber butt nudge!Hire more staff! Foodie mate and myself were seated at the table near the door and were pretty much forgotton. I had to keep getting up, asking for drinks, soy, chilli etc, I should not have to do this. Granted, it was extremely busy for a midweek lunch, but still. The food does leave the kitchen quite randomly and people that have arrived after you, can get the meals first, mmmm whats going on in that kitchen? We really enjoyed the food we had, with the exception of the chicken wings, delicious? Yes? But 3 tincy tiny wings! Come on peeps, chicken wings are cheap as! Put some more on! Shanghai Teahouse dcor is very nice, as you would expect in Burnside village. The staff are very friendly and obliging (when you get their attention). The prices are excellent! I would definitely return to try more of the menu!
