On the 28th Jan, we bought a discounted lasagna from the shop, knowing it was to be eaten on the day or frozen. We ate it that same evening and the cheese on the sauce had gone bad and we threw the item away.Today, I gave a feedback to one of the tenant of the shop, that on hot days, they needed to check their discounted items were still fit for selling.I was met with a standard answer that those items are meant to be eaten on the day or frozen, no apologies were offered, let alone any customer services (and I was not even asking for a discount or a refund: just letting them know that this is a serious matter that can lead to food poisoning and this can’t be discounted on hot days). The tenant of the shop offered no added value by just reiterating the policy, no apologies or no solutions, which shows lack of seniority of the supervising staff and lack of taking the matter seriously. I have been a long time customer who cared enough to give feedbacks (good or less good equally) and I believe that feedbacks are important to prevent future issues.Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to concern staff who aren’t shop owners.I will be talking to Tracy next, the owner of the shop.
With number of cafes and food outlets in the Burnside Village Shopping Centre, it is not easy to make a decision, where to dine, what to eat. Being a bakery we felt the choices in the display cabinets looked tempting. We both enjoyed a very well made savoury muffin, along with a couple of large lattes. The service was excellent, and we found the pricing not over the top. The table we sat at was comfortable, papers were supplied, the free Wifi was good. We shall return next time in the Village.

I can see the meat!. There is no pie in this world that will beat their lamb shank pie, it is amazing! Combine it with a FUIC and you have the most awesome lunch known to man.The Mrs is quite fond of their sour dough bread as well.
Finally – Real Sourdough bread in SA!. Having recently moved from Sydney, where Sourdough is a staple at any excellent bakery, I had been struggling to find any here in Adelaide. Finally, I’ve found some though – and it rates up there as some of the best in Australia! Crusty flavoursome white is a great staple, but the rye sourdough is equally delicious. And you have to try the Early Grey Tea-infused fruit bread – scrumptious for breakfast. Found this place after hearing it mentioned on the Today Show for their award-winning lamb shank pies – don’t miss these either!
