The food alone here, is worth contesting over a car park in the busy street for. This place serves up tasty, authentic & well priced ethiopian food! Greeted by the smiling owner you immediately feel very welcomed. He takes the time to talk you through the menu & how to eat the delicious dishes with the injera (pancake style bread). This place is value for money & offers a very speakeasy kind of vibe. Always busy which is a good sign but not a surprise.
This place is not well known outside of the Adelaide African community. Hidden off Henley beach road, it’s a rather large restaurant presenting East African cuisine. The food it flavoursome with very generous portions, all will a price you can’t complain about. If you haven’t had food from this region do check it out. They don’t seek alcohol on the premises, so be mindful if you like a drink with your food.
Ate here with a big group and everyone was very impressed with the quality of the food and the overall service! Will definitely be returning, and I recommend other people try this place – the food is delicious!
Ordered the Doro Wat. Perfectly tender chicken and a generous spicy stew with plenty of the traditional bread to mop up all the sauce. Perfect. Great customer service also
I recently dined with my wife on a thurs afternoon and was pleasantly surprised as a first time at having African food. the food was very reasonable[$30 in total including 2 soft drinks].the staff went out of there way to accommodate my wife who cant have any of the onion family, and explained all the dishes and modified one for her.Staff were friendly ,efficient and courteous and .asking if everything was satisfactory. The food was enjoyable and delicious and more than reasonably priced .very clean establishment and very friendly and welcoming atmosphere the chef also took an interest in customers dining there. All in all a great 1st time African food experience.which will see Jill and I returning again when I next return to Adelaide.
Delicious food, just walked in and tell Mo to make a share plate for as many on your table and let them weave their magic. Carnivore or vegan options and it’s all delicious! Prices went up recently I think to about $25 per head which was a big step from the early days, but you are supporting a great effort to bring community together, do you get a triple bottom line!
Amazing hidden gem. This place has amazing food ! The tastes and aromas are divine. The staff are friendly. The place has a casual community centre feel about it, but that adds to its charm. You must arrange for them to roast a pot of coffee for you…the coffee is magnificent. They could seriously benefit from having a couple of exhaust fans for the smoke though.
