We headed to Condesa for their Friday night Mexican fiesta happy hour. Service was good, a decent selection of options available. Margaritas were $10 during happy hour and were tasty, and there was a good selection of beers available too. The tacos at half price were ok, portion sizes on the smaller side. We ordered the loco fries and 6 tacos to share. All the food came out at once, meaning we hardly had room on the table for what we were eating, and some of the food went cold by the time we ate it. If I wasn’t there for happy hour I’d say the price of the tacos was way too expensive for what you got.

Seriously, this place is as good as Mexican gets in Adelaide. Sophisticated complex delicious food. The venue is a bit ordinary, but don’t let that put you off. The staff are lovely and, as I said before, the food is exceptional. The only other place that I have come across in Adelaide that comes close is La Popular Taqueria and that is so far away from our place it is impractical.Did I say before, this place is excellent. Highly recommended.

It was a Wednesday night and we were lucky to get a table for two without a booking. Despite that the floor staff were on top of everything and we got water and our orders taken quickly. Condesa had a nice atmosphere and they’ve retained the hotel’s heritage while still trying to include a Mexican vibe. There was a bit of a wait for the food but once it started coming there was a good flow. Our favourite was the chorizo and beef cheek quesadilla, with the mole and the enchiladas following. Our kingfish was unfortunately overcured and the eggplant dish didn’t quite live up to expectations. The margaritas were good though.
