An old favourite. Grimaldis is our reliable and friendly local restaurant. There is a true feeling of community here, and the staff are lovely and attentive. The menu is well thought out with options for light meals or hearty ones depending on how hungry you are, and there are almost always two different specials up for lunch and dinner to keep things interesting. My favourite dish is the Goats Cheese tart, which is a true winner, and I find that even when they do change their menu, it’s always there!Overall, Grimaldis gives simple and warm service, cooks beautiful meals and leaves most customers very satisfied, without the hefty pricetag of inner-city restaurants. With every meal, you’re also given complimentary bread, which is baked fresh every morning, and in all honesty, it is so delicious that it is hard to resist. They also make genuine ice-coffees, with proper espresso shots and coffee gelato to top them off. Not many places make it like that anymore!Another big plus is that it has recently converted its outdoor dining into a non-smoking area.
One of the best in Adelaide. Crab bisque is simply marvellous.
Changes not good. I have been going to Grimaldi’s for many years. It has been a very reliable Italian restaurant with traditional but skilfully cooked food. There is a new team in the kitchen and unfortunately they have moved away from the restaurants Italian roots. The menu is generic and the methods are quick cooking styles that won’t produce depth of flavour. I ordered gnocchi with chicken cacciatore. Prep for this dish should have included making chicken cacciatore instead of which there were pan fried chicken breast pieces with a sauce that had clearly been cooked separately. The old team would never have cut corners in that way.
Been here many times and like it. But please make the outdoor dining- no smoking!
Great food-beware the soft drinks. Just had lunch at Grimaldis. The food was excellent, perfectly cooked and just the right balance of flavours – the veal and baked salmon were delicious. Fairly expensive for the whole experience though. It is, however, a sad day when a glass almost full of ice and a tiny amount of Coke is more expensive than the bottle of cider. When I pointed out that there was far too much ice in the glass – what did we get- a shrug of the shoulders – too bad apparently. Again I mentioned it to the waitress when she was clearing the plates – sorry, she says I can’t do anything about it, I am only the waitress -clearly repeat custom is not welcomed, given the lacklustre apathic response and prices.
The Best Restaurant in Adelaide. Grimaldi’s is a fantastic spot. It has a lovely ambiance and the staff are all beautiful and friendly. The menu never disappoints – but the pizzas are perennial and a must! The coffee is made like it should be, not too cold or too weak and the cakes and desserts on display are sumptuous. Although it can get busy at peak times it is always a lovely place for and afternoon of mid-morning coffee and cake, and luches are also lovely with the terrace out the front. Oh and they make the fro, scratch bread in the pizza oven every morning – it tastes amazing and is complimentary with a side of olive oil for every meal. Would highly recommend this place!
Our absolute best neighborhood cafe. This is the go-to place for when we want dependable service and really great food. There’s a good selection from smaller portioned delicious entrees and salads to beautifully cooked meat mains accompanied by beautiful veg sides. Good wine selection by the glass. Desserts are awesome. Pizzas mouthwatering. Coffee excellent. Great little pastries. Don’t come here if you want something stripped down, basic and not-special. The only down side might be that it’s a little loud, usually reflected noise from extremely happy patrons.
