We have had two meals at the Adelaide Sailing Club (The Clubhouse Bar & Bistro) over the past two weeks. WOW!!! What a turn-around with the new chef Kieren. The new menu (Australian/Mediterranean) and Specials are fantastic. The quality of the meals is excellent and timely. We have had the Chicken Schnitzel (freshly made not frozen style) which is huge and very tasteful, the Wood-fired Lamb Shoulder (melts in the mouth) and the Char-grilled Scotch Fillet (cooked exactly as requested) also melts in the mouth. The staff are cheerful, very pleasant and helpful. For all those that have had a not so pleasant experience in the past we would recommend you have another go!!! You won’t be disappointed. Prices are very reasonable with most of the menu GF or GF Options. The kids menu looks good to. Oh! the deserts are to die for.We will be taking our friends there very soon. Regards L&P.
Following the recent addition of a wood oven, a new menu and a rebrand, I have to say that this is a really great place to eat!! I’ve been a few times with the family and with a group of my girlfriends and everytime the food has been spot on. Their wood oven pizzas are just lovely and the new menu has a range of the old favourites, like schnitzels and steak, as well as new items like pork and prawn salad and an excellent kids menu that offers more than your usual fish and chips or pasta option. The staff are friendly and the food comes out in reasonable time. The wine menu has also been updated and offers a good range of Aussie wines. I miss a bread roll with my dinner, but I do love a good garlic pizza bread instead and they offer that in place of the rolls now. There is a small sail boat in the corner full of toys and book and being a family friendly venue there are always kids to distract your little one, while you finish your meal! Recommend you give it a try especially as parking is free, unlike in Glenelg!
Nice service poor food.. Used to love going to Adelaide Sailing Club, great service, awesome food and reasonable prices. Returned after a few months away to see a trendy revamp. The service was still friendly, however there was no longer the specials that were great value, no tasty side salads or warm rolls. The prices had noticeably increased and quality of food was extremely poor. This is my first review and the reason I’m writing it is because I think it’s such a shame the food was so bad. The salt and pepper squid was extreme salty and cold, laid on a few lettuce leaves with no dressing. The same with the barramundi. The Kangeroo was also cold and tasted odd. The children’s chicken and chips looked as if it had been reheated from the previous night! I would have said something but a tired baby prevented it!

Salad of Prawns and Pork. Well seasoned, tasty and moreish. Yummy08 Aug, 2014Pork Belly in Ginger Beer. Fragrant, succulent, tasty and delicious. Salad is superb (with pumpkin)08 Aug, 2014Friday night At Adelaide Sailing Club Bistro. Delightful deck area with the most amazing views over our ocean. Were greeted and made to feel most welcome. bar snacks to graze on whilst we had a drink at the bar and a chat to the locals.. Chose from a small,(thank you) but interesting Menu. No disappointment here. The pork Belly is second to none. The Chicken Liver parfait, delicious and the dessert Menu exciting. I’m fussy. Don’t over look this lovely venue. It’s right on our doorstep. Puts Glenelg cafe’s to shame. The deck area is very spacious and in Summer would be a perfect place to ponder…. Just a note to some. We took a child with us. It is the responsibility of Adults to make sure the kids are well behaved, Not the Bistro’s fault. Take note parents. A pleasant evening for all of us……Fluffy from Glenelg East
Not the best. Positives: staff were friendly and view good. Negatives: kids running everywhere and a bit uncontrolled, service was exceedingly slow!!!!! Long wait for food which, when it came was very disappointing and average- poor quality. Would not really recommend.
Best Balcony!. The Schnitzel night on a Wednesday is great value. The view is fantastic. There is a full bistro menu available too and having a wine with nibbles on the balcony is glorious. A hidden treasure off the main drag but right on the beach! Very relaxing, no bustle.
