Nice but nothing super exciting. With a name like La Terre, I thought there might be something French about the breakfast menu but it was all the stock standard offerings. Coffee was average. Lovely service and lovely presentation.
Great service and great food! Thank you La Terre!
A local haunt for us on weekends – La Terre offers a great French-style brekkie in a beautiful location. I have covered most of the breakfast menu and for me the standout is the cocotte eggs which are often on the specials board with different flavours. Growing up in a French family this is very reminiscent of the food of my Bon Papa and their vinaigrette and sauces are perfect. Would love a bit more bread to be served with the food so I can get all of the goodness.Great staff, great coffee too. Check it out for something different than your regular big brekkie.
Changed a lot with new owners. We’re locals and really used to love this place. However since the new owner took over, there’s a real push to get you to eat rather than just enjoy a coffee. In fact on Sundays they’re only open for lunch and really not interested in serving only drinks. Also the prices for the lunch menu are pretty high for a casual cafe. Think $30 plus. The coffee is still great but we don’t go as much as we used to. Plenty of other cafs in Willunga!19 Oct, 2014Best coffee in Willunga. We’re locals and love the coffee at La Terre, going there at least once a week.Cakes and pastries are great, especially the brioche with lemon curd!Have only been once since it opened as a ‘wine bar’ recently (on the opening night), and would not go again at this time due to the ridiculous wine prices. But, great for coffee. 🙂
YUMMO on a winters day. French Onion Soup. I visit my best bud every year from Brisbane and we always go to La Terre and I hope andpray they will have the French Onion soup on the menu. Please please please have it available on thursday 7th May – I’ll be there.
Surreal Dining Experience. This cafe is very odd. Just because you write a menu in pigeon French, doesn’t make it French. We were served by a strange lady, who appeared to have not taken her medication. She couldn’t remember anything, and we waited for absolute ages to get our food which was average at best and massively overpriced at worst. At the end of the meal she couldn’t remember what we had so she just seemed to make up a price off the top of her head which when we questioned it she said, she didn’t remember what we had, so what would we be happy with? I wouldn’t mind so much but we were the only people in there. When we left we were unsure wether to laugh or cry. Very very unusual.
Waiting, waiting ….. This cafe has a lovely atmosphere and an appealing menu with a touch of class. However, they upset a regular customer today. The ‘extra-hot’ coffee I ordered was just warm and I nearly sent it back. I ordered a mushroom dish for lunch and waited and waited. The two women at the table beside me sat down, ordered and ate an entire meal before I ran out of patience. You guessed it – my order had been lost. This was quite a feat since only three tables were occupied. My lunch time was over and I left hungry. A savvy staff member would have refunded my coffee as well as the price of the main dish but instead they managed to disaffect a regular customer with barely an apology.
