Had heard great things about Le Mistral but we found the night a little odd! Booked ages in advance but found ourselves squashed into table near bar which was quite difficult to get in and out! Service staff very pleasant but we had to constantly ask for menus, drinks, water etc. Food was a highlight, sone perfect meals, others good but quality perhaps didn’t match price. Overall we were disappointed mostly because it was incredibly expensive and wasn’t that memorable!!
This is a superb restaurant .After FINO we weren’t sure how hood the successor would be. Fabulous. Our dishes were well put together and delicious. Our group were comprised of serious foodies who knew their stuff. All impressed with their meals. Well worth another visit
Having heard good things about Le Mistral we popped in for a delayed Bastille Day lunch. After perusing the menu we decided that we really couldn’t get past the entre selection so we worked our way through that with a couple of side dishes. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was lovely. Can recommend if you are in the area.
My partner took me to Le Mistral for a Thursday lunch for my birthday. The 2 x French Courses + a glass of wine ($45.00) was our selection. The Escargot & Mushroom Pie (a good size portion for an entree) was a delight & would go back just for this dish. For mains we both had the Steak & Frits, the steak was perfectly cooked & was delicious. My only issue with this dish were the chips, these were a dark brown & fat laden where I am used to golden yellow chips with this dish, but the steak carried the experience. I found the wine list limited, especially for medium priced ($60 – $80) European wines. The staff were very accommodating & pleasant. Overall a reasonable experience which I look forward to enjoying again.
Fino is a hard act to follow but they are doing it very well. Authentic French menu beautifully presented. Angus beef was the tenderest cut I have had for a long time. Medium rare to perfection with tasty jus , potatoes and beans. Lamb duo was excellent as well. Apple tart for dessert took us back to Paris. Pricing in the mid 30s for mains with substantial extras was reasonable for the quality and size. Recommended.
