I decided I needed a snack for later so wandered into this bakery as visited the Farmer’s Market earlier that day. I had the Apple Danish. It was well priced and it tasted delicious. The pastry was nice and the icing on it was delicious.
Bad pies. Had a meat pie from this bakery today, the pastry was hard and dry, the inside was runny gravy with only one chunk of meat inside, never again.
Keep driving. Unfortunately this bakery was such a disappointment. Stopped for a sausage roll (first time in years) and totally ruined it for me. Think they must be vegetarians, or carpenters, as was void of taste and substance, the word sawdust comes to mind! And no, the pies were no better. Ladies are you tasting what you bake? I’d assume not. If you are considering stopping here, I’d suggest you carry on to Mt Compass and experience a real country bakery! Full of flavour, taste, passion and a view of the mount!
Good bakery. Good pies, sausage rolls and pasties. Their cheese and vegetable pasty is recommended. Smallish range of cakes and slices. Reliable, good value, good service and tasty. What else do you want?
