This place is an icon, and a must visit for any traveller to this beautiful part of the world.Do NOT expect trendy decor, or expensive furnishings. This is a typical country pub by looks, but atypical by food. The chef skilfully uses local produce and seafood to bring an amazing food experience. We were here on a cold, wet midweek evening, and the place was packed with locals. Clearly they appreciate good food, but the pub also has an amazing community feel to it.The bar also has a great selection of locally brewed beers and ciders, as well as a great local wine list.So good!

We stopped to have lunch in Hotel Bruny heard from a mate that they serve good seafood platter. The customer service was nice and friendly! Had a good impression the first time we arrived here. The restaurant/bar was family friendly spot.If ure beer and sport lover, you can enjoy beer while watching live sport on the TV.There were a table for the kids as well (drawing spot). We ordered Fish Platter for 1 (kilpatrick & natural oysters, bruny island smoked atlantic salmon, calamari squid, tas scallops grilled bruny island atlantic salmon and local fish with chips and salad) ~ 36 AUD.Our other mates ordered the fish platter for 2 ~ 65 AUD.For us, the portion for fish platter for 1 enough to share with 2 persons; however, if youre really really hungry platter for 2 was a great option!!!All seafoods were fresh and locally from Bruny Island (proud of the local product).Smoked salmon and grilled salmon were tasty, well seasoned and nicely cooked.Oysters were good but not the best as we just came to other places specialty in oysters which were better. It was still good though….Unfortunately, calamari squids were slightly under seasoned!!Overall, its still good value and quality. We will re-visit this when we come around this area.Taste: 3.5Service: 4.5Speed: 3.0Price: 4.0 whatepieats.com

We were here for a holiday and booked a whole day tour around Bruny Island. Ask part of the tour, lunch was provided here. Ambience : 4/5. Its s typical cafe/pub setting. Simple and minimal decors. Food : 4/5. One of the best fish and chips Ive ever had. The batter was not too oily and the fish was so fresh. Risotto was cooked to perfection, scallops were juicy, fresh and full of flavour. For $2, we were given to opportunity to join the cider tasting which was quite an experience!Service : 4/5. Great service from the waiter and the bartender. Friendly, attentive and of course service with a smile. Thi place is highly recommended if youre visiting Bruny Island.
